YOUR DAY-DAY WILL INCLUDE:



  • Acquiring data using multibeam, singlebeam, sidescan, mobile laser scanning, and sub-bottom.
  • Survey planning and budgeting.
  • Teaching, training, managing and developing staff.
  • 50-70% of time spent in the field.
  • Client communications and project reporting.
  • Support data processing, analysis, reporting, and proposal writing.


WHAT YOU NEED:



  • 2-5 years of professional hydrographic survey experience.
  • Ability to obtain a TWIC card.
  • 3 years' experience working on boats and in the coastal environment; small vessel operations experience.
  • 3 or more years' experience with data acquisition systems including multibeam, singlebeam, sidescan, inertial navigation, sub-bottom profilers.
  • Experience with industry standard software packages including: Hypack, Caris, QPS, POS Pac, ArcGIS, etc.
  • Ability to perform field work, including travel (50 to 70%), weekends, holidays, and the physical ability to lift objects over 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work in a team environment, self-manage, resourceful and manage others.
  • A valid driver's license with a clean driving record, cleared background check and negative drug test result.
  • A commitment to seeing projects through to completion, a high attention to detail and an enthusiastic attitude.


WHAT WILL MAKE YOU STAND OUT:



  • NSPS Hydrographer certification is preferred but not required.
  • USCG Captain's License is preferred but not required.
  • Self-motivated with an entrepreneurial spirit.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills. Sound functional/technical skills in the role.
