Position Summary:
Provide
sustained leadership in the Center's helioseismology
and solar-interior dynamics portfolio, with direct relevance to solar dynamo
physics, interior-flow diagnostics, and space-weather enabling science.

Essential Functions:
-Execute and extend the NASA-funded program on solar inertial waves and their
implications for interior physics.
-Maintain and advance helioseismic
analysis capabilities (including normal-mode coupling and time-distance inference
workflows) that are strategic to the Center.
-Translate these
capabilities into a sustained stream of peer-reviewed publications and new
proposals.

Additional Functions:
-Strengthen
student training in data-intensive heliophysics aligned with NJIT's research
mission.

Prerequisite Qualifications:
-PhD
in physics.
-Substantial experience in helioseismic data analysis and
modeling.
-At the university's discretion, the education and experience prerequisites may be exempted where the candidate can demonstrate to the satisfaction of the university, an equivalent combination of education and experience specifically preparing the candidate for success in the position.

Preferred Qualifications:
-Experience
in solar/space physics, space mission data analysis, supercomputer modeling.

Bargaining Unit:
PSA

Salary Information:
In compliance with the NJ Pay Transparency Law, the starting salary for this position is $70,000.00-$80,000.00 (USD). NJIT considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses or other items.
