The Project Manager - Commercial Strategy leads the PRIME governance framework, divisionwide PMO standards, Smartsheet architecture, and crossfunctional execution of strategic and innovation initiatives. - Salary range 006: $105,200 - $131,500 (Salary will be determined based on skills, education, training & experience related to the position).
What's involved in this role: 1. PRIME Governance & StageGate Leadership
- Own the PRIME - Ingredients governance framework, including cadence, deliverables, templates, decision gates, and crossfunctional alignment.
- Lead stagegate reviews, governance sessions, and crossfunctional working meetings.
- Prepare steering committee materials (agendas, prereads, action logs, decisions, updates).
- Maintain project documentation: charters, timelines, deliverables, stagegate reviews.
- Conduct project health checks to ensure governance compliance, documentation quality, and execution discipline.
2. Smartsheet Ownership & PMO Enablement
- Serve as the division's Smartsheet expert and system owner for all projects, programs, and PRIME workflows.
- Build and maintain templates, dashboards, automations, workflows, and reporting views.
- Ensure consistent project management standards across teams.
- Coach and support project managers across Innovation, Commercial, Operations, QA/Regulatory, and Marketing.
3. Portfolio & Pipeline Management
- Maintain the master project portfolio in Smartsheet, including innovation pipeline, RAG status, milestones, risks, dependencies, and critical paths.
- Provide leadershipready dashboards and consolidated visibility of all initiatives.
- Deliver insights and recommendations to support prioritization, sequencing, and resource allocation.
4. Program & Project Leadership
- Act as project manager or colead for highpriority crossfunctional initiatives (e.g., SKU rationalization, commercialization, strategic programs).
- Coordinate multidisciplinary teams across Commercial, Innovation, Operations, Marketing, Supply, QA, Regulatory, and Finance.
- Anticipate risks, roadblocks, and gaps; develop mitigation strategies and escalate when needed.
- Partner with the VRO to align capital and strategic initiatives within PRIME and Smartsheet governance.
5. OGSM Alignment & Strategic Execution
- Translate OGSM strategic priorities into executable project plans.
- Track OGSM progress in Smartsheet and maintain alignment of objectives, strategies, measures, and milestones.
- Build executivelevel dashboards, reports, and updates highlighting progress, risks, and challenges.
6. CrossFunctional Coordination & Collaboration
- Act as the central coordination point between Commercial, Innovation, Marketing, Sales, IBP, Operations, Supply, QA, and Regulatory.
- Provide tools, templates, best practices, and guidance to project managers.
- Ensure teams stay aligned on scope, priorities, timelines, and decision ownership.
7. Process Improvement & Execution Excellence
- Identify inefficiencies in PRIME workflows, execution processes, and crossfunctional operations.
- Design and implement continuous improvement solutions to increase clarity, speed, and predictability.
- Standardize project management frameworks to support scalable and repeatable delivery.
8. Change Enablement & Culture Building
- Promote a culture of accountability, clarity, and disciplined execution.
- Help teams navigate complexity, organizational change, and competing priorities.
- Reinforce best practices in collaboration, communication, and project delivery.

- Ensures strategies (Commercial + Innovation) translate into disciplined, ontime execution.
- Creates a single source of truth through Smartsheet.
- Improves decisionmaking by strengthening visibility, governance, and transparency.

- Reduces project risk through early identification and mitigation.
- Establishes a scalable PMO foundation for future growth.

What you need to join our team: Education
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain, Food Science, or related field required.
- Preferred: Master's, MBA, PMP/PMI certification, or formal project management training.
Experience
- 7 years of progressive experience in program management, project management, PMO, or execution leadership roles.
- Proven experience managing complex, cross-functional projects across, commercial, innovation / R&D, Operations, Marketing, QA / Regulatory, and Supply teams,
- Demonstrated experience operating stage-gate or governance frameworks (PRIME, Stage-Gate, PMO, IBP, or equivalent)
- Hands-on experience translating strategy (OGSM or equivalent) into executable project plans.
- Experience supporting product development, commercialization, capital projects, or portfolio initiatives.
- Strong experience working in matrixed organization with multiple stakeholders and competing priorities.
- Experience supporting or managing portfolio-level visibility and reporting for senior leadership.
- Experience in ingredients, food, nutrition, dairy, or life-science industries strongly preferred.
