Security Officer - Armed Patrol

As a Security Officer - Armed Patrol in Miami, FL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer supporting a government transit environment, you will conduct routine patrols across stations, platforms, and surrounding areas to help identify and respond to security-related concerns. You will remain highly visible, control access as needed, and coordinate with onsite teams and local partners when incidents arise. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to our clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government transportation location.
• Perform armed patrol duties on foot and/or in a vehicle throughout transit facilities, platforms, parking areas, and perimeter routes to help to deter unauthorized activity.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including initiating notifications, coordinating with onsite personnel, and documenting actions taken.
• Control access to restricted areas by verifying credentials, monitoring entry points, and screening for prohibited items in accordance with post orders and local requirements.
• Complete detailed reports on incidents, patrol observations, and security-related concerns, and communicate status updates to Allied Universal supervision and client representatives.

Minimum Requirements:

• Have 3+ years' combined law enforcement and/or military and/or security experience OR a college degree.
• Be a graduate of a law enforcement or military police training program or equivalent.
• Have an armed guard card/license.
• Provide proof of a high school diploma/GED as required by the client.
• Be 21+ years of age.
• Have a DD214 with honorable discharge OR an associates degree/60 college credits OR a police academy certificate OR a corrections academy certificate.
• Have a law enforcement officer license.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
