Job Description




As a Security Guard - Plant Patrol in Conneaut, OH, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Manufacturing & Industrial, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer at an industrial manufacturing location, you will conduct routine foot patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and complete clear reports and communication. You will support access control, respond to alarms and/or calls for assistance, and deliver customer service to employees and visitors. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout manufacturing and industrial areas, including production floors, warehouses, loading docks, parking areas and perimeter routes, as assigned.
  • Control access at gates, doors and checkpoints by verifying authorization, directing visitors and/or drivers, and following badging and sign-in procedures.
  • Monitor alarms, access control systems and/or CCTV when assigned, and report irregular conditions per post orders.
  • Perform security-related checks of doors, fences, exterior lighting and restricted areas, and report maintenance or operational concerns through the proper channels.
  • Complete reports including daily activity logs, incident reports and shift handoff notes with accurate details and timely updates.
  • Provide traffic and pedestrian direction during shift changes, deliveries and special activities to support orderly site operations.
  • Interact professionally with employees, contractors and visitors, providing directions and answering questions while following site rules.
  • Support emergency response activities such as fire, severe weather, medical events and/or evacuations by following site procedures and notifying appropriate contacts.
  • Assist with screening of bags, packages and/or vehicles when required by site policy, and document findings per instructions.
  • Maintain a consistent presence, follow post orders and communicate with supervision and client representatives about security-related concerns.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
