Position Description

Modine Manufacturing Company is expanding its Data Center Cooling manufacturing footprint and is hiring an Industrial Engineer II to support the start-up, ramp-up, and scaling of operations at our new Grand Prairie, Texas facility. This role will play a critical part in building efficient, safe, and scalable manufacturing systems for data center chiller products, enabling Modine's continued leadership in advanced thermal management solutions.

The Industrial Engineer II will drive operational efficiency, process design, and continuous improvement across manufacturing and logistics operations. This role is ideal for a hands-on engineer who thrives in a dynamic, growth-oriented environment and is ready to take ownership of mid-sized projects with moderate supervision.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze, design, and optimize manufacturing and logistics processes to improve throughput, productivity, and resource utilization, including during new line launch and production ramp.
  • Support manufacturing system design, including line layout, takt time development, staffing models, and capacity planning for production.
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective action efforts to resolve production, quality, safety, and material flow issues.
  • Deploy Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies in a high-mix, engineered equipment manufacturing environment.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Operations, Manufacturing Engineering, Facilities, IT, Supply Chain, and Quality to implement scalable, production-ready solutions.
  • Develop and maintain standard work, process documentation, and training materials to support safe, repeatable, and scalable operations.
  • Utilize data analytics, time studies, and performance metrics (e.g., throughput, direct labor efficiency, OEE) to identify and prioritize improvement opportunities.
  • Participate in new equipment installation, factory layout planning, and production readiness activities.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards throughout manufacturing operations.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives that reduce waste, improve flow, and stabilize quality during ramp and steady-state production.
Required Education & Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.
  • 3 or more years of Industrial Engineering or equivalent experience, preferably supporting manufacturing operations.
  • Proficiency in process mapping, time studies, capacity modeling, and data analysis.
  • Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles with demonstrated application on the shop floor.
  • Strong project coordination, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a start-up or fast-scaling manufacturing environment with evolving processes.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience supporting new facility start-ups, production ramps, or major expansions.
  • Background in engineered-to-order or configurable equipment manufacturing, such as HVAC, chillers, or capital equipment.
  • Hands-on experience developing standard work and operator training during early production phases.
