What you will do

Responsible for coordinating production colleagues within assigned department(s), including scheduling and assigning work, providing colleague training, and ensuring safety, quality, and production output requirements are met. Colleagues in this role must successfully complete all required training as outlined in the Marinette Operations Training Matrix. Works directly with the Welding Cohort to collaborate on weldingrelated issues and concerns.

How you will do it

DUTIES

Train colleagues in the operation and setup of cell equipment to ensure proficiency and safe practices. Support the cell manager with scheduling, manpower planning, and vacation planning. Monitor inventory levels to ensure materials are available for production needs. Set up machines and materials for job changes or in preparation for the next shift. Assist line operators with supplementary tasks to maintain workflow and productivity. Operate cell equipment to support daily production. Update KPI boards daily (prior to 7 a.m.) to maintain accurate performance tracking. Resolve COGIs daily to ensure accurate labor and material reporting. Perform SAP functions related to the Weld Lead role, including labor corrections, material movements, and COGI resolution. Provide clear guidance to colleagues and address confusion within the team. Apply lean principles to improve production metrics and drive continuous improvement. Communicate effectively with colleagues and crossfunctional partners to support smooth operations. Keep the supervisor informed of relevant issues, progress, and developments. Administer toolbox/Alchemy training as a backup to the supervisor. Exercise decisionmaking, problemsolving, and policy or procedure interpretation as needed. Maintain thorough and relevant manufacturing knowledge of welding processes. Adapt to changing business conditions and adjust work practices to meet evolving objectives. Complete projects and assignments as directed by the supervisor. Process timecards when the supervisor is on vacation. Work safely and effectively in a normal production plant environment. Stand and walk extensively as required by daily job duties. Maintain First Aid training or demonstrate willingness to become trained. Acknowledge that job duties may evolve as plant or business needs change.

Qualifications
Candidates must be at least 18 years of age and possess a high school diploma or equivalent. A minimum of five years of experience in the welding industry is required, and previous experience as a trainer or educator is preferred. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously are essential, along with an interest in further developing leadership, welding, and technical skills. Candidates must also demonstrate alignment with JCI Values: Integrity First, Purpose Led, Customer Driven, Future Focused, and One Team.

Technical Skills (Required)
Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in welding processes at ATSM standards, including GMAWS, GMAW, and SAW; troubleshoot welding equipment and weldingrelated issues; and accurately interpret blueprints and weld symbols. A valid forklift license must be maintained. Flexibility in work hours is required to support production needs, and computer literacy is preferred. Pay and job title designation will be determined by current certifications

  • Know responsibilities in the event of an emergency (i.e. what to do in the event of an alarm for fire, chemical spills, tornados, etc.)
  • Be a coach to others who are acting unsafely
  • Must have Lock-out tags after 6 months
  • Attend and participate in all hazardous and non-hazardous waste training courses.
  • Ability to recognize chemical hazardous labels.
  • Spill management and clean-up.
  • Air shutoff locations.
  • Capability to follow satellite accumulation rules and requirements.
  • Proficiency to recognize hazardous waste in your area and manage properly.

HOURS 2pm to 12am M-TH w/Overtime as needed

Welder II Certified Senior Welder: Training $31.37 Certified $34.37

Welder III Certified Senior Welder: Training $35.58 Certified $39.58

Welder IV Certified Senior Welder: 41.52
