Attribute Engineer
This role supports vehicle attribute teams by managing requirements, traceability, and reporting across physical vehicle attributes such as NVH, durability, and serviceability. The focus is on maintaining high-quality requirements data, reducing administrative burden on attribute leads, and ensuring readiness for program milestones.
Scope:
* Manage the creation, organization, and maintenance of requirements across physical attributes (NVH, durability, serviceability, etc.) within the system of record.
* Ensure requirements follow standard formatting and quality guidelines to reduce administrative overhead for Attribute Leads.
* Conduct regular audits to ensure requirement sets are current and accurately reflect design status.
* Create and maintain dashboards tracking requirement maturity, stability, and verification progress.
* Establish and maintain traceability between requirements, design artifacts, and validation tests.
* Prepare requirement and verification status reports to support program and milestone reviews.
* Identify and flag missing traceability links or undefined requirements for resolution.
* Serve as the primary point of contact for requirements management tooling and process questions.
* Document best practices and lightweight workflows to support efficient use of requirements tools.
Required:
* Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical field (Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or similar), or equivalent practical experience in an automotive or engineering environment.
* Experience using requirements management tools such as Jama, DOORS, or Jira, including maintaining traceability matrices.
* Basic understanding of vehicle physical attributes such as NVH, durability, or serviceability.
* Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage large datasets and track progress against deadlines.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills for collaborating with technical leads.
Pluses:
* Experience with automotive or similar milestone-based development processes.
* Proficiency creating dashboards and reports to visualize requirement status and coverage.
* Familiarity with systems engineering principles, including V-model development.
* Experience supporting system integration efforts requiring broad technical coordination.
* Ability to work independently to unblock technical teams by handling administrative engineering tasks.
