Commercial Low Voltage / Cable Technician Location: Nashville, Tennessee Company: TEKsystems Type: ContracttoHire Overview TEKsystems is seeking motivated Cable Technicians with a minimum of one year of handson experience who are ready to grow into broader commercial lowvoltage work. This role is ideal for individuals who have a strong foundation in cabling (Cat5e/Cat6) and want to expand into security, CCTV, access control, and A/V system installation. Responsibilities * Install, terminate, label, and test Cat5e/Cat6 cabling in commercial environments. * Assist with installation and programming of CCTV, access control, security systems, and A/V equipment. * Read and interpret basic blueprints, wiring diagrams, and job layouts. * Troubleshoot cabling and connectivity issues. * Ensure all work complies with local and national lowvoltage/electrical codes. * Work collaboratively with senior technicians and project teams to meet deadlines. * Maintain accurate documentation of work performed, materials used, and time tracking. * Provide professional, customerfocused service on every job site. Requirements * Minimum 1 year of cable technician experience (commercial experience preferred). * Strong understanding of cabling standards, pathways, and best practices. * Ability to read and follow wiring diagrams and basic schematics. * Solid troubleshooting and problemsolving skills. * Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team. * Strong communication and customer service skills. * Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. * High school diploma or GED required; technical training or certifications are a plus.
