The CO+I Energy Analytics team builds data platforms and insights that support Microsoft's global datacenter growth and sustainability goals.

We work across the CO+I Energy Team to translate complex energy data into trusted, actionable insights that inform decisions at scale. Our work helps the Energy Team plan, operate, and optimize responsibly as Microsoft continues to grow its cloud footprint worldwide and solidify its leadership in providing infrastructure for the global AI economy.

As an Energy Analytics Program Manager, you will be focused ondeveloping the business analytics and actionable insightsrequiredtooperateand scale one of the world's largest corporate energy portfolios.A successful candidate will have a strong understanding of the utility industry,large loadenergy management,andelectricity market structures. Theywill have the ability toidentifyand solve problems, collaborate with cross-functional teams toidentifybusiness needs, and independently drive initiatives to completion. Responsibilities:

• Market Intelligence & Rates:Develop and manageanalyses and contentrelated to theglobal data centerportfolio includingstudies, methodologies,andperformance metrics.Researchmarkets, competitors, and industry trends. Performsanalysisof supplier pricing, cost, capabilities, and capacityfordatacenters.
• Sourcing Strategy:Supportthedevelopment offorecasting tools and processes, collaborates across large cross-functionalorganization,sets targets, makes and delivers to budget commitments.
• Program Management:Collaborate with partner teams todevelop strategies to align and manageinfrastructure delivery and customer load-side analyticsandgoals. Collaborates with others to track, coordinate, and communicate end-to-end project schedules for multiple features or functional areas (e.g., product, service, systems),leveragingautomation, artificial intelligence, and/or workflows where applicable. Helpsmonitorprocesses and hold stakeholders accountable for following the established schedule and processes. Help track and manage dependencies to enable cohesive, connected user scenarios, and toidentifypotential risk areas and escalate appropriately. Begins to adjust or course correction when projects are not aligned to schedules or goals.
• Orchestration and Collaboration:Works within and across teams toenabledata sources, methodologies, analytical tools and processes, and businessneeds, tofacilitaterelevant insight generation, reporting, and interpretation. Engages stakeholders toidentifyand act on opportunities toleverageresources and solutions that were instrumental to success in similar contexts, and consults across teams on decisions related to analyses, insights reporting, and/or their interpretations.

• Required/minimum qualifications

  Master's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Materials Science, or related field AND 1+ year(s) experience in procurement, supply chain, sourcing, engineering, operations, or relevant sales-related roles OR Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Materials Science, or related field AND 2+ years experience in procurement, supply chain, sourcing, engineering, operations, or relevant sales-related roles OR equivalent experience.
• Additional or preferred qualifications

  Master's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Materials Science, or related field AND 3+ years experience in procurement, supply chain, sourcing, engineering, operations, or relevant sales-related roles OR Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Materials Science, or related field AND 5+ years experience in procurement, supply chain, sourcing, engineering, operations, or relevant sales-related roles OR equivalent experience.

• Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Sourcing Engineering IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $100,600 - $199,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $131,400 - $215,400 per year.
