About the Role

MWH is currently seeking a VDC Intern to join our Digital Delivery team.

Essential Functions/Learning Opportunities:

• Producing models, drawings, layouts, and sketches, of engineering designs, construction fabrications, and quantity takeoffs using BIM/CAD software. Collaborates with design professionals and project participants during the modeling, coordination, and construction processes.
• Develop and maintain 3D model content in support of self-perform process systems.
• Gains knowledge in developing digital parts libraries, catalogs, specifications.
• Develop detailed construction models and produce fabrication Iso's and & Ortho's for Process piping systems.
• Gains knowledge of construction principles and practices.
• Supports on-site construction team efforts in the implementation of VDC/Digital Delivery applications and practices such as Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality.
• Reading and understanding of contract documents and drawings.
• Participates in BIM-based trade coordination with project construction teams and sub-contractors.

Basic Qualifications

• In progress toward earning a Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering or related degree.
• Interest in a career in construction.
• Experienced with complete Microsoft Office Suite, excellent writing and communications skills.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal abilities for working in diverse team environments with staff, clients, and stakeholders.
• Experience with/aptitude for construction and/or mechanical processes.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior internship experience in the construction or related industry.
• Prior experience with Autodesk Plant3D, Revit, Navisworks and Civil 3D software platforms.
• Prior experience with Autodesk BIM 360 / ACC Docs applications.

Compensation

• Paid Internship budgeted at $23-26 an hour.
