The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Position Summary

The CUMC Immunogenetics and Cellular Immunology seeks a qualified Senior Technician to join our Chimerism Laboratory. The work will involve the hands-on processing of biological samples for clinical post-Hematopoietic stem cell transplantation monitoring.

Responsibilities

15% - Cell isolation



  • 15% - Flow cytometry for lineages
  • 15% - DNA extraction
  • 15% - DNA Amplification
  • 15% - Sequencing and capillary electrophoresis
  • 10% - Data analysis and reporting
  • 15% - Other clinical duties as assigned


Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and at least one and one-half years of related experience or equivalent in education, training and experience.

Preferred Qualifications



  • NY State clinical laboratory technologist license is a plus, but the laboratory will train/sponsor otherwise. If training is required for the NY State clinical laboratory technologist license, the trainee must complete the training within one year from the date the NYS training certification is issued.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English with colleagues and outside personnel.
  • Computer literacy in Word processing and Excel spreadsheets is a must.
  • Prior experience in flow cytometry, tissue culture, cell separation, DNA extraction, and capillary electrophoresis PCR is required.
