APeX Reporting Manager
Job Summary As a recognized clinical informatics expert, applies comprehensive knowledge of professional concepts and industry practices to lead the most complex projects of large size and scope that have critical impact throughout the medical center and / or systemwide. Supervising and mentoring the APeX reporting team, this position supports operational reporting with primary emphasis on healthcare, financial, and administrative information in an EMR system. The person is an expert in EpicCare Clinical applications such as Inpatient, Ambulatory, ASAP, Willow Op Time, Radiant, Anesthesia, SlicerDicer, etc. Minimum experience in this field of work is 10 years along with supervisory role of at least 3 years. The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy. Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement. The salary range for this position is $110,400 - $235,400 (Annual Rate). Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in health care information technology, computer science, or related area, and/or equivalent combination of experience/training.
- Advanced degree or equivalent work experience
- Minimum experience in this field of work is 10 years along with supervisory role of at least 3 years

- Experience leading large groups or teams
- Expert knowledge of clinical informatics operations, including controlled terminology, clinical workflows, user interface optimization, clinical decision support, rules development, data integration and mining, clinical ontologies and adoption of technology.
- Demonstrated expertise in all relevant clinical informatics software and systems, and of the most complex concepts, principles, policies, methodologies, techniques, best practices, regulations, and standards involved with patient care and electronic medical data management in the UC health care system.
- Highly developed skills and expertise in project management, with demonstrated ability to plan and lead teams, prioritize tasks, and direct projects successfully from inception to completion on task and on schedule.
- Expert proficiency in interpersonal communications to convey highly technical information and instructions, develop and deliver training materials as needed, and collaborate productively with business and technical staff, clinical users, management, and key stakeholders at all professional and technical levels.
- Requires critical thinking, persuasion/negotiation, mentoring, leadership/management, problem solving, human resources policies and procedures relating to management responsibilities, verbal and written communication, quantitative abilities, analytical, strong technical database systems skills.
- Strong knowledge of human resources management policies, with the ability to monitor, evaluate, and document personnel matters and performance and contribute to decision-making on personnel actions.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to apply expert-level problem-solving skills to issues of the most complex nature, to quickly diagnose problems, and to develop, test, and deploy appropriate and effective solutions in a timely manner.
- Demonstrated analytical skills and expertise in documentation and reporting, with the ability to develop and apply metrics, evaluate new systems and releases, run complex queries, extract and analyze complex performance data, and produce comprehensive reports and analysis for use by key staff and management across departments.
- Demonstrated ability to serve as an expert resource with broad industry knowledge, to lead teams and work effectively with key personnel and management, and to provide advice and counsel on optimal strategies and policies for improving quality, efficiency, and functionality of clinical informatics programs.
