Position Title: Welder
Wage: $28.00-$35.00 per hour Shift: 1st Hours: 6:00am-2:30pm (Mon-Fri) QPS Employment Group is hiring skilled MIG/TIG welders for a 1st shift position (6am-2:30pm, Mon-Fri) in O'Fallon, MO. Pay starts at $28-$35/hr., based on experience. This is a direct hire role. Must have TIG welding experience on aluminum and stainless-steel materials up to 6G. This is for aerospace manufacturing for aircraft parts and major distributors, one being Boeing. Welder Responsibilities include but are not limited to: - Fabricates advanced parts/weldments according to blueprints and drawings. - Fabricates advanced part/weldments by using equipment to clean, prepare, cut, burn, and weld pieces, setting up and measuring assemblies. - Verifies welding results by inspecting and testing welds. - Updates job knowledge by participating in company provided training opportunities. - MIG and TIG aluminum, steel, and stainless steel. - Will be required to pass AWS 3G plate (vertical uphill and downhill), 6G pipe, both using the GMAW and GTAW processes for aluminum and carbon steel. - Willing to help in other areas/departments of the shop when needed. - Possess a strong working knowledge of fabrication equipment to include but not limited to basic calibrated tools (tape measure, caliper, angle finder, etc.) hand tools, powered metal working machinery. - Advanced knowledge of layout techniques. Welder Requirements: - Must have TIG experience. - Ability to read and interpret instructions. - Ability to read and interpret advanced blueprints. - Ability to know advanced measurements, and basic shop math, addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, and decimals. - Ability to solve advanced problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written or oral form. - Ability to be certified to specifications of the AWS and in-house CWI. - Ability to lead a team through a job while meeting all expectations of safety, quality, and effectiveness. - Ability to apply principles of metallurgy preheating and post heating. - High School Diploma or equivalent. - Required minimum 5+ years' experience in the metal fabrication and welding industry with a practical working knowledge of the GMAW and STAW processes. korea.willingham@qpsemployment.com IND999 About us: QPS Employment Group is a full-service staffing firm comprised of dedicated and passionate people with over 50 offices throughout the United States.
