Facilities Maintenance Technician

Leads and executes maintenance activities for the distribution center with minimum supervision.
Performs maintenance and repair of mechanical, electrical, and other physical structures in accordance with SOPs (standard operating procedures), internal requirements, manufacturer's specifications and safety policies.
Responsible for facilities related EHS requirements and the uptime of operational equipment while supporting continuous improvement activities.

1. Leads and executes preventive maintenance activities to minimize equipment downtime.
   
2. Acts as initial contact for all indirect vendors.
   
3. Manages the facilities request process.
   
4. Manages the recycling efforts (cardboard, oil, metal)
   
5. Schedules periodic inspections.
   
6. Purchase/Quote of supplies, parts, and other items as needed.
   
7. Works closely with the EHS team to maintain facilities related EHS requirements
   
8. Dismantles, moves, and installs new and/or existing equipment.
   
9. Participates in team group assignments as assigned by Supervision.
   
10. Able to work overhead with scissor lift or order pickers.
    
11. Performs preventive maintenance and inspection of assigned equipment in accordance with maintenance schedule and factory specifications. Reports findings to supervision and takes appropriate actions for repair.
    
12. Able to support after hours support as needed for emergencies.
    
13. Maintains 5S standards in all work areas and creates standard work processes as required.
    
14. Seeks to acquire new skills and abilities in order to keep current on updated technology and industrial maintenance. Open to certification on EHS systems such as OSHA, hoist crane servicing/repair and competent person.
    
15. Performs all work in accordance with required safety standards, rules, regulations and practices in workmanship like manner. i.e.
    Lock-Out - Tag-Out; Arc Flash and Hot Work Permits

FORMAL EDUCATION STANDARD: High School Diploma/Equivalent
EDUCATION TYPE: 2 year technical degree OR equivalent technical military training preferred.

Strong communication skills - Written (emails) and speaking

Computer skills (Microsoft Office)

Strong systems knowledge (mechanical, electrical, and HVAC, plumbing, etc)

Minimum Experience: 5-7 years
