Security Specialist / SCIF Operator

Description of specific duties in a typical workday for this position:

• The provides security administration and Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF) operational support to Headquarters organizations. The individual ensures strict compliance with DoD, Intelligence Community (IC), and Army security policies governing classified information, personnel access, physical security, and secure facility operations.
• Responsibilities include day-to-day SCIF operations; controlling access to classified areas; maintaining access rosters, visitor logs, and entry/exit procedures; and enforcing physical, personnel, and information security requirements. The Security Specialist / SCIF Operator safeguards classified materials, ensuring proper handling, storage, transmission, accountability, and destruction in accordance with applicable regulations.
• Additional duties include supporting security inspections, audits, and compliance reviews; coordinating visit requests, indoctrinations, debriefings, and access verifications; and assisting Government security managers with resolution of security issues or discrepancies. The role supports classified meetings, briefings, and operational activities and ensures all security protocols are followed within controlled environments.
• The Security Specialist / SCIF Operator enables secure Headquarters operations by maintaining the integrity, availability, and compliance of classified facilities, information, and personnel access.

Requirements (Years of experience, Education, Certifications):

• Minimum of 3 years of experience supporting security operations, classified environments, or SCIF operations within a DoD or Intelligence Community environment
• Demonstrated experience with:
  
  
  
  • SCIF operations and access control
  • Handling and safeguarding classified and SCI materials
  • Security documentation, logs, and procedures
  • Supporting inspections, audits, and compliance reviews
  • Coordination with Government security officials
  
  
  
  
• Active TS/SCI security clearance is required/Active Secret Clearance
  
  
  
  • Must be eligible to maintain access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI)

• Experience supporting HQ-level organizations, PEOs, PMOs, or IC-affiliated programs

  • DoDM 5200.01 series and ICD/ICS security policies
  • SCIF accreditation and operations
