The Instrument/Sterile Processing Technician Supervisor provides support and leadership related to the cleaning of equipment and sterilization of instruments. The Supervisor is responsible and accountable for coordinating and planning workflow and other activities. In addition, the supervisor, decontaminates, prepares and maintains surgical instruments and equipment; prepares performance evaluations and disciplinary actions; provides cleaning, reprocessing and sterilization services to Surgical Services and all patient care areas.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Supervises daily operations of the Sterile Processing department, providing oversight and direction to staff while serving as the primary liaison to department leadership.
- Oversees case cart management, ensuring surgical service preference cards are accurately pulled and prepared for OR and Procedure Center cases.
- Ensures timely processing and distribution of essential equipment, monitoring inventory to maintain appropriate par levels across all units.
- Directs and performs decontamination processes for durable medical equipment and surgical instruments, ensuring adherence to infection prevention standards.
- Manages sterilization workflows, ensuring the proper use of various sterilization methods in compliance with regulatory and manufacturer guidelines.
- Leads onboarding and training of new staff, serving as a mentor and resource for Sterile Processing best practices.
- Represents the department on organizational and interdepartmental committees and contributes to assigned projects.
- Promotes continuous learning and professional development, ensuring staff maintain required certifications and stay current on advancements in Sterile Processing and instrument technology.
