Job Description




As a Security Officer - Museum Patrol in New York, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Cultural Institutions, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal at a renowned cultural institution, you will monitor and patrol the location, maintaining a secure environment for guests and staff. Your presence helps to deter security-related incidents while delivering outstanding customer service and communication. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies, as well as responding to emergency situations when appropriate.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner to help maintain order within the location.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the location and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
  • Observe and report any suspicious activity, hazards, or unusual occurrences within the location.
  • Assist with access control by monitoring entry and exit points, verifying credentials as required, and/or providing directions to visitors.
  • Work collaboratively with other Allied Universal personnel and location staff to address security-related needs as they arise.
  • Complete detailed and accurate reports of daily activities, incidents, and/or irregularities encountered during patrols.

Minimum Requirements:

  • At least two years of security-related experience is required.
  • Applicants must be at least 21 years of age.
  • A state, county, or city issued security license is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Applicants who are comfortable using a computer or tablet are preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
