Accounting Manager Location:Hartford, Hybrid (3 days onsite) About the Opportunity Vaco is working with a growing company that has created an exciting opportunity for an experienced Accounting Manager to join theirprofessional team. This role offers the chance to lead regional accounting operations and make a meaningful impact on our organization's financial success. What You'll Do As an Accounting Manager, you'll oversee all aspects of monthly accounting and reporting for an assigned region while leading a dedicated team of accounting professionals. Leadership & Team Management Lead and develop a team of accountants within your assigned region Conduct regular check-in meetings to support team growth and performance Oversee monthly workloads to ensure timely, accurate reporting across all locations Train and mentor staff to build a high-performing team Regional Expertise & Operations Serve as the primary expert on all locations within your region Act as the main point of contact for external clients and internal field personnel regarding reporting matters Manage onboarding of new locations, transitions for terminated locations, and ownership changes Direct initial reporting requirements for new locations Financial Oversight & Reporting Review financial reports, bank reconciliations, and balance sheet reconciliations prepared by your team Participate in regional P&L calls and provide insights for all managed locations Maintain proactive oversight of location profitability and corporate P&L impact Collaborate with the tax team to ensure timely completion of all tax filings and payments (monthly, quarterly, and annual) Strategic Contribution Participate in leadership meetings and drive process improvements for the department and region Apply deep knowledge of GAAP to ensure compliance and best practices across your portfolio What We're Looking For Required Education Bachelor's degree in Accounting Required Experience Minimum 5 years of experience in General Accounting or Finance with demonstrated application of GAAP Supervisory experience preferred Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco/Highspring depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual's skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs.
