Working under the direction of licensed personnel, assists patients with activities of daily living tasks such as bathing, dressing, and eating. Also assists with taking patients' temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration.
Does this position require Patient Care? Yes -Performs vital signs, weights/heights, intakes, and outputs with accuracy and within established time frame and/or as requested. -Completes all documentation in the medical record as required. -Interacts with patients and their families effectively. -Helps patients with a number of basic hygiene tasks. This may include bathing and dressing patients, helping them use the toilet if needed, and feeding them. -Assist with helping patients turn and reposition themselves in bed as needed and help them move between the bed and a wheelchair if they use one. -Listens to any health concerns patients may have and report those concerns to the nurses. -Measure and record vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates. Report any abnormalities to the supervising nurse. -Promote patient comfort and respond promptly to patient calls and needs. Assist with pain management, emotional support, and ensuring patient dignity. -Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients by ensuring cleanliness, proper use of medical equipment, and adherence to infection control protocols. -Accurately document patient care activities, observations, and vital signs in electronic medical records (EMR) systems. -Collaborate with the healthcare team, including nurses, physicians, and other support staff, to ensure a cohesive approach to patient care. Relay relevant information regarding patient conditions and concerns. -Assist with the setup, operation, and maintenance of medical equipment, including wheelchairs, hospital beds, and monitoring devices. -Safely transport patients to different departments within the hospital and assist with patient positioning during procedures.
