TITLE: Security Guard A



POSITION OBJECTIVE: Employees in this position are required to perform routine security tasks at main gate, monitor all inbound and outbound traffic, and facilitate the processing of inbound and outbound shipments. With this function properly executed, the company maintains an adequate level of control at the gate.



QUALIFICATIONS:



  • High School Degree or Equivalent.
  • Minimum 2 year of security experience.
  • Basic PC Skills.
  • Communication Skills - phone, CB Radio, interaction with personnel, truck drivers, guests, etc.
  • Ensure consistent, dependable attendance and demonstrate a willingness to accommodate non-standard work hours as necessary.
  • Capable of effectively managing job-related stress and fostering productive workplace interactions.



JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:


Task and Duties



  • Gate Control - employee/vehicle monitoring, inbound / outbound truck traffic.
  • Data capture - truck activity, weigh scale data, vehicle logs, etc.
  • Security - vehicle and employee searches, verify gate passes, verify delivery tickets.
  • Emergency assistance - monitor site emergency phone, coordinate ERT paging, ambulance request.
  • Housekeeping - perform housekeeping in area as required.
  • Site patrols - check doors, windows, parking lots, etc.
  • Assists with site inspections.
  • Back up to Traffic Coordinator.
  • Review paperwork of all truck traffic - if for shipping, identify pick up number and direct driver to dock or waiting area, if for delivery, direct driver to Central Warehouse or other approved location.
  • Record all inbound and outbound truck information related to shipping product on the inbound / outbound log.
  • Monitor all employee inbound and outbound traffic - log as required, verify employee badges.
  • Monitor the site emergency phone and take actions as required during the emergency - page ERT team, call 911 dispatch for an ambulance, monitor ambulance status, etc.
  • Monitor all guests / visitors visiting site and verify that appropriate escorts are obtained or that guests / visitors are directed to approve areas.
  • Monitor all non-product items leaving site - verify that delivery ticket has been processed and authorized, verify material versus delivery ticket, etc.
  • Obtain copies of various documents such as delivery tickets and bill of landings and process them to respective shipping departments or accounting department.
  • Train new employees.
  • Must have regular, reliable attendance, and willing to work outside the regular schedule as required.
  • Willing to handle job stress and interact with others in the workplace.
