CAE Instructor Pilot - All for reaching new heights together. In this parttime ATP CTP Instructor Pilot role at CAE, you choose the 10-12 days per month that you are available to work, allowing for exceptional flexibility and worklife balance. You will join the world's leading aviation training organization and contribute to delivering bestinclass simulator and ground training to pilots preparing for critical moments in their aviation careers. Key responsibilities include:
Conduct pre and postflight simulator briefings in accordance with CAE standards. Deliver simulator sessions following CAE, aircraft manufacturer, or customer Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Provide flight training in alignment with the CAE 14 CFR142 Manual and/or customer training program. Accurately complete crew training records to ensure pilot comprehension and smooth instructor transitions. Recommend remedial training when required. Record simulator usage and discrepancies per established procedures. Maintain proficiency and validity of all required instructional qualifications. Promote Crew Resource Management (CRM) and Threat & Error Management (TEM) principles. Support administrative programs across flight training, as assigned. Serve as a subject matter expert in curriculum and courseware development. Perform additional duties as assigned by the Training Manager.
Physical Requirements
Frequently ascend/descend ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, and poles. Occasionally move into various positions, including confined spaces. Remain in a stationary position for extended periods (standing or sitting). Occasionally move about to accomplish tasks. Occasionally lift or adjust objects up to 20 lbs. Occasionally perform repetitive wrist, hand, or finger motions.
Minimum Qualifications
Available to work a minimum of 10 days per month. Authorized to work in the United States. Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings and late evenings. Participation in CAE's DOT Drug & Alcohol testing program. Current, Unrestricted FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP). PIC CL65 Type Rating (required). Meets FAA minimum experience requirements for qualification as a Simulator Instructor. Meets at least one of the following:
2 years of air carrier PIC or SIC experience under Part 121 2 years of PIC experience under 14 CFR Part 91 for multiengine turbinepowered aircraft requiring ATP and applicable type ratings 2 years of PIC experience under 14 CFR Part 135 for turbojet aircraft requiring ATP and appropriate category/class/type ratings
Fluent in English. Working knowledge of FAR Parts 61, 91, and 121. Strong presentation, interpersonal, and communication skills. Ability to perform in a fastpaced environment and adapt to changing requirements. Strong customer focus and professionalism. Ability to maintain accurate, compliant training and regulatory records. Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience. PC skills: Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel. iPad proficiency: ForeFlight, Safari, multitasking across applications.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous simulator instructor experience. Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience. Experience working with diverse students and adapting training methods accordingly. Strong detail orientation and commitment to documentation accuracy. Ability to provide exceptional customer service ("red carpet" experience). A professional demeanor with the ability to create a welcoming learning environment.
