Job Description:

Airbus is looking for a Quality Supervisor I (2nd Shift) to join our A320 team in Mobile, AL.

You will direct, supervise and coordinate all operational Quality activities in Single Aisle Flowline in defined area of responsibility. Also manage, motivate and develop the Quality team including Lead Inspectors. You will be responsible for ensuring the Airbus Quality Standards of the entire aircraft based on the defined inspection dossier and in accordance with the POA relevant regulations.

Your working environment:

On 'Airbus Way' you will find the Airbus U.S. Manufacturing Facility for commercial aircraft. Opened at the Mobile Aeroplex at Brookley in 2015, the facility produces A320 Family aircraft and added a second product line for the A220 in 2019. Your challenges:

Lead Team & Act as Delegate:

  • Lead and develop the Flowline Quality Line Side Inspection Team, ensure that the Level 3 qualification of inspection personnel is in accordance with the Airbus Qualification requirements.

  • Ensure that the Aircraft production and the milestone FOT is in compliance with the Quality, cost and lead-time targets of FAL-USA.

  • Responsible focal point for all Customer presentations and customer interactions.

Risk Analysis/Containment:

  • Risk mitigation of quality escapes endangering the aircraft built and or product safety, launch of immediate corrective actions

  • Responsible Focal Point for all external EASA Audits in area responsibility

  • Work within a MFT to resolve Quality issues and ensure constant feedback loops with MAP, ME, QCM, AQCM and FCM

Improve Processes/Operations:

  • Ensure that all EASA-POA regulatory requirements are implemented and used in the Flowline Product Quality and manufacturing organization.

  • Support and project manage the deployment & implementation of sustainable improvement projects and standardize way of working like Quality Excellence - Able to lead projects at times

  • Conduct periodic performance evaluations, makes recommendations regarding personnel actions and collaborates with Quality Manager in employee communication and communicating on personnel actions.

Your boarding pass:

Experience:

  • A minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience in Aviation (Quality, Manufacturing Engineering, Assembly Processes, Production method, etc.).

Knowledge, Skills, Demonstrated Capabilities:

  • High degree of flexibility and initiative

  • Demonstrably effective communication skills on different levels, a structured way of working and the ability to deal with a volume of complex information.

  • Work with the principles, practices, methods and tools used in aircraft manufacturing

  • Work with non-conformities and design query notes

  • Knowledge Aircraft manufacturing process with strong emphasis on Structure/Mechanical/ Paint Tasks

  • Must be able to use Microsoft office & SAP

Physical Requirements:

  • Onsite or remote: 100% onsite

  • Vision: adequate to enter and read material on computer screens. Able to identify individuals to initiate greetings, the giving of directions and other business interactions.

  • Hearing: able to hear sufficiently to engage in conversation in office settings Able to hear safety alerts and warning signals.

  • Speaking: able to engage in conversations in person and via electronic means and deliver information to groups of varying size with or without amplification.

  • Equipment Operation: able to operate a wide range of personal and office electronic equipment.

  • Carrying: able to occasionally carry up to 20lbs/9kg while engaging in training, addressing production issues or as part of continuous improvement projects.

  • Lifting: able to occasionally lift up to 20lbs/9kg.

  • Pushing/Pulling: able to push/pull items in office areas.

  • Sitting: able to sit for extended periods of time at the computer and in meetings.

  • Squatting/Kneeling: able to occasionally squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items shelved on bottom shelves. Able to work outside hangers in changing locations. Able to work on movable lifts at the aircraft at a height of approximately 40 ft.

  • Standing: able to stand for extended periods of time.

  • Travel: able to travel overseas and domestically sometimes for extended periods of time. Working outside hangers in changing locations.

  • Walking: able to walk through office and production areas, around flightline and airstrips and sometimes on uneven indoor and/or outdoor surfaces.

Citizenship:

  • Must be able to work in the US without current or future need for visa sponsorship.
