Job Overview & Responsibilities

As an Aerospace Technician - Quality Inspector, you will be performing qualityinspection tasksassociated with checkout and test ofground, airborneand facilitysystems andequipment duringpreparation forspacecraft androcket launchoperations forcompliance withengineering,quality, andcustomerspecifications andrequirements. Tasks include, but not limited to:



  • Performinstallation, checkout,maintenancerepair, refurbish,fabrication,modification,troubleshooting,and repair ofairborne,aerospace groundand facilitieselectrical,electronic,instrumentationand range safetyequipment and tocalibrate, test,repair, maintainand modify testinstruments andgauges utilized inthe test,operation andmaintenance ofproducts at thelaunch site.
  • Work with spaceflight hardwareand/or ordnanceperformingreceipt, transport,storage, repair,maintenance,calibration,modification andinstallation.
  • Assistengineering inthe evaluation oftests andcorrection ofmalfunctions;perform test andoperationalprocedures.
  • Assistengineering inthe analysis oftests andcorrection ofmalfunctions;perform test andoperationalprocedures.
  • Performspecializedcalibration,maintenance,repair andmodification ofelectronic,physical, and/ormechanicalmeasurementinstrumentationand equipment.
  • Performcheckout,maintenancerepair, refurbish,in-placecalibration,fabrication,modification,troubleshootingand final servicingof structural,mechanical andfluid systems.
  • Must be able to travel, work overtime, and support all shifts as required.



Required Education


High School/GED



Required Years of Experience


Minimum of 4 years of related work experience



Basic Qualifications



  • Minimum of 4 years of experience with quality inspections, preferably in an aerospace/industrial environment


  • Worked in or with a Quality team following quality policies and procedures
  • Understand precision measuring instruments (calipers, scales, gages, levels, etc.) and an understanding of the use of complicated engineering drawings (blueprints)
  • Must have the ability to obtain Basic Tech Certs
  • Must be willing/able to obtain additional certs as needed to provide inspection support across the factory
  • Must be able to follow processes/instructions for various tasks and update work orders and QNs as needed
  • Must be able to work from ladders and platforms
  • Requires moderate physical effort moving around the plant, confined spaces, and inspections
  • Must have basic computer skills (use of internet, Microsoft)
  • Must have or be able to obtain certifications in:


    • Repair of Surface Defects
    • Vacuum Bagging Cert
    • Strain Gage/Temp Sensors Install
    • Visual Weld Inspect - Unlimited Cert
    • Electrical Bonding Cert
    • Resistance Weld Inspector Cert
    • Cryogenic Safety Cert
    • Hand Soldering Cert
    • Confined Space Entry Cert
    • Laser Safety
    • Potting Cert
    • Digital UT Thickness Cert
    • Fall Protection
    • Aerospace E/E Assembly Cert
    • Respirator User
    • Cork Bonding Cert




Preferred Qualifications



  • Experience with precisions measurement tools
  • Working knowledge of reading and interpreting blueprints
  • Proven history of working independently
