Job Overview & Responsibilities

  • Perform GTAW welding
  • Ability to perform work with both hands which may involve forceful grasping, repetitive motion with low impact vibration (weld preparation, sanding, filing, grinding, cutting)
  • Must be willing and able to perform entry to confined work spaces
  • Must be able to climb and work from ladders, rainbow ladders, and platforms for extended periods of time, awkward positions and in high places
  • Ability to read and comprehend blueprints, detailed written work instructions, and other printed or graphical instruction
  • Ability to lift up to 35 lbs., bend, kneel, squat, stoop, work overhead, reach above shoulder level, sit, stand, walk (sometimes on uneven surfaces), and climb
  • Must be willing to work weekends, extended hours as needed
  • Work in a maintained clean environment
  • Comply with all safety rules
  • Ensure that equipment is used in accordance with established safety and operating procedures
  • Shifts:

    • 6:00 am - 4:30 pm Monday - Thursday (4x10)
    • 8:00 pm - 6:30 am Sunday - Wednesday (4x10)





Required Education


High School/GED



Required Years of Experience


Minimum of 2 years of related work experience



Basic Qualifications



  • Experience with machining, welding or metal fabrication
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment or production environment
  • Ability to read and comprehend blueprints, detailed written work instructions, and other printed or graphical instruction
  • Must be able to climb and work from ladders and platforms for extended periods of time, stooping, bending, and standing in tight places, awkward positions and in high places
  • Ability to obtain Confined Space certification and perform work in such environment
  • Ability to lift up to 35 lbs., work overhead, reach above shoulder level, sit, stand, walk (sometimes on uneven surfaces), and climb
  • Ability to perform work with both hands which may involve forceful grasping, repetitive motion with low impact vibration
  • Must have basic computer skills (use of intranet)
  • Must be able to work one of the shifts listed below:

    • S1 - 6:00 am - 4:30 pm Monday - Thursday (4x10)
    • S2 - 8:00 pm - 6:30 am Sunday - Wednesday (4x10)





Preferred Qualifications



  • Friction Stir Welding, Fixed and retractactable pin
  • Large Diameter Orbital Welding
  • 3 Years manual weld experience in DC Aluminum Welding
  • Set up and operate large, friction stir welding machines to create welds on aerospace hardware
  • Perform pre and post surface preparation of metallic surfaces using hand tools for welding and non-destructive evaluation
  • Accurately use precision measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, and torque wrenches
  • Ability to obtain and maintain required certifications to perform duties associated with the Aerospace Production Technician job classification; drilling, riveting, assembly or subassembly, including bonding and sealing as required
