Job Description

Summary: Develops and improves manufacturing techniques, process routers, equipment, tooling, and fixtures. Support daily production equipment and process, troubleshoot issues, address root causes. Utilizes best practices and continuous improvement strategies, including lean manufacturing providing value from the customer's perspective, simplicity, standard work, work cells, a visual workplace and respect for people.



Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned:



  • Collaborate with Engineering, Operations and Supplier Partners in support of production activities; developing work procedure instructions (WPI), routers, tooling, fixtures, processes and best practice methodologies and document as required.
  • Manages manufacturing activities through cross-functional team to determine, coordinate and delegate as required to support production timelines and objectives.
  • Achieve targets set forth for improvements in process cycle time, yield, efficiency, productivity to achieve business goals.
  • Supports and drive lean manufacturing, waste elimination, standard work, and work cell concepts.
  • Support daily production, troubleshoot issues, determine root cause. For component supplier related root causes, provide supporting information relative to out-of-spec conditions.
  • Utilize CAD programs as required, to design fixture and tool components. Utilize in-house 3D printer capability when appropriate.
  • Providing sourcing, costing, estimating and quote analysis for labor, equipment, and tooling.
  • Negotiates pricing and lead-time from vendors for equipment & tooling.
  • Complying with the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and Defense Acquisition Regulation System (DFARS) as they pertain to suppliers to the federal government and its procurement network.
  • Pursues continuous improvement through training and process improvement. Work in a manner that promotes efficient handling and minimizes waste.
  • Adhere to the principles of "6S" to maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
  • Participate in company sponsored training and process improvement activities.
  • Complying with all ICC Policies as defined in the ICC Employee Handbook
  • Complies with all applicable elements of ICC Quality Management System


Salary Range
$68K - $80K
Requirements

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:



  • BS Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering.
  • 4+ yrs. industry experience supporting volume manufacturing.


SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS:



  • Excellent comprehension of engineering drawings and manufacturing procedures.
  • Interconnect assembly experience a plus.
  • Aerospace & defense experience a plus.
  • AS9100D/ISO9001 experience a plus.
  • PLC programming experience a plus.
  • Proficient in 2D & 3D CAD -- AutoCAD, ProE preferred.
  • Proficient with MS Office; Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Proficient in utilizing Enterprise Management Systems (ERP) and databases.

While performing the duties of this job the employee is often required to stand, sit, use computers, read, write, type, use copy machines, file paperwork, use telephones, and utilize written and oral communication to interact with clients, co-workers, and customers. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close visual acuity to perform activities such as: inspecting manufactured parts (with and without magnification), preparing/analyzing data and figures; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading. Distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, ability to adjust focus and ability to distinguish colors and color variation of physical parts and components, and in documentation such as work instructions and engineering drawings.



WORKING CONDITIONS:


Position is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions (such as in typical office or administrative work.)
