The Rutgers Division of Intercollegiate Athletics sponsors 24 intercollegiate sports, comprised of 14 women's and 10 men's programs, that compete at the Division I level. The Scarlet Knights are members of the prestigious Big Ten Conference, the nation's premier academic and athletic conference, after officially joining the league on July 1, 2014. Known as "The Birthplace of College Football, Rutgers hosted Princeton on Nov. 6, 1869 in the first intercollegiate football game, with RU earning a 6-4 victory. |
| Posting Summary |
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking an Assistant Coach - Gymnastics for Athletics Events - Operations. This position works under the direct supervision of the Head Coach.
Among the key duties of the position are the following:
- Assists in establishing and maintaining a nationally competitive intercollegiate women's gymnastics team within the Big Ten Conference and NCAA.
- Recruits high level academically and athletically skilled female students to attend Rutgers to earn a degree and to compete in the women's gymnastics program.
- Assists in organizing and conducting practices and competitions at a high level of efficiency and success.
- Assists in developing, teaching and instructing the student-athletes in the proper rules of competition, conditioning. skills and techniques on the mat and life-skills and leadership qualities on and off the mat.
- Assists in fundraising and alumni relations events that support the objectives of the program and allow for program enhancements.

Qualifications
| Minimum Education and Experience |
- Bachelor's degree or Comensurate Coaching Experience.

| Certifications/Licenses |
- A valid driver's license would be required for this position.
|
| Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities |
- Knowledge of NCAA regulations relative to proper rules of play in the sport of gymnastics.
- Experience coaching Level 10/Elite/NCAA Gymnastics Skills.
- Good organization skills.
- Ability to communicate with student-athletes, the public and the media.
- Computer literacy.

- Knowledge of Big Ten Conference and NCAA regulations.
- Experience spotting Level 10/Elite/NCAA Gymnastics Skills.
- Experience with Level 10/Elite/NCAA Choreographing Floor Exercise and Balance Beam Routines, Uneven Bar Coaching, Balance Beam Coaching and/or Vault/Floor Coaching.
