Position Responsibilities

• Design and implement data architecture for enterprise data platforms including data lakes, data warehouses, and lakehouse architectures
• Build scalable data pipelines using modern ETL/ELT frameworks (Airflow, DBT, or similar); ensure data quality, reliability, and performance
• Implement CDC (Change Data Capture) and real-time streaming solutions using Kafka, Spark Streaming, or similar technologies
• Optimize data infrastructure for performance and cost; implement partitioning, compression, and caching strategies
• Establish data governance practices including data lineage, quality monitoring, schema management, and access controls
• Lead technical initiatives for data platform modernization; evaluate new technologies and tools for potential adoption
• Mentor junior data engineers; conduct code reviews, establish best practices, and drive technical excellence across the team
• Collaborate with data science and analytics teams to understand requirements and deliver data solutions that enable advanced analytics
• Support compliance requirements for data security, privacy, and regulatory needs (GDPR, SOC2, or industry-specific regulations)

Qualifications

• 5+ years of data engineering experience building large-scale data platforms on cloud infrastructure
• Cloud data platforms: Extensive experience with AWS (Redshift, Glue, EMR, S3), Azure (Synapse, Data Factory, ADLS), or GCP (BigQuery, Dataflow, GCS); Oracle Cloud experience is a plus
• Data technologies: Expert SQL; proficiency in Python or Scala; experience with Spark for distributed data processing
• Data pipeline tools: Hands-on experience with Airflow, DBT, Luigi, or similar orchestration frameworks
• Streaming platforms: Experience with Kafka, Kinesis, or Pub/Sub for real-time data processing; understanding of event-driven architectures
• Database expertise: Deep knowledge of relational databases (PostgreSQL, Oracle, SQL Server) and NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Cassandra, DynamoDB)
• Data modeling: Strong skills in dimensional modeling (star/snowflake schemas), data normalization, and schema design
• Infrastructure as Code: Experience with Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar IaC tools
• Bonus: Experience with data compliance requirements (FedRAMP, ITAR, HIPAA); lakehouse platforms (Databricks, Delta Lake); CDC tools (GoldenGate, Debezium)
• Education: BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; MS preferred

Compensation Information

The U.S. salary range for this position is $68500.00 - $119750.00. This range is subject to change as Deltek takes a number of factors into consideration when determining individual base pay, such as location, job-related knowledge, skills and experience. Certain roles are eligible for additional rewards, including incentive compensation and equity.
