Description

This role will lead the development and execution of the global growth strategy for the CRO business. It will act as the central point of co-ordination for strategic planning, market intelligence, and value creation initiatives, enabling data-driven decision-making and portfolio growth across the business line. The Director, Strategy & Market Intelligence (CRO) will provide critical insights to the SVP Strategy & Growth, CRO Sales team and wider ELT, translating market dynamics, competitive intelligence, and customer opportunities into actionable strategies that drive revenue, profitability, and long-term transformation.

Core Responsibilities:

Strategic Development & Execution



  • Lead formulation of the global CRO go-to-market strategy, aligning commercial, engineering, and operational priorities to support sustainable growth.
  • Partner with COE and Engineering to shape the product pipeline and portfolio evolution, ensuring alignment with market demand and customer value.
  • Coach and support Regional Sales Directors in development of strategic account plans


Market & Competitive Intelligence



  • Develop and own enterprise-level market intelligence - the "Market Intelligence Center of Excellence", synthesizing external data sources for aircraft usage, build and Shop Visit data; alongside customer insights, and industry trends to inform business and go to market strategy.
  • Build a structured approach to competitor benchmarking, demand forecasting, and strategic opportunity analysis.
  • Own the long-range (3-5 year) forecasting process for the CRO business in collaboration with Finance, incorporating base load demand, contractual renewal cycles, and both organic and net-new growth projections to inform strategic and financial planning.


Growth Pipeline, Data & Value Creation



  • Support and influence the M&A pipeline in collaboration with the central M&A team, identifying and qualifying inorganic growth opportunities aligned to strategic priorities.
  • Drive business case development for new markets, partnerships, and investments in support of the SVP Strategy & Growth and wider ELT.
  • Manage the health, accuracy, and reporting of the SFDC (Salesforce) pipeline and Wave transformation tool, ensuring data integrity, visibility, and consistency across all growth and strategic initiatives.


Stakeholder & Governance Alignment



  • Work cross-functionally with Sales, Value Creation Office (VCO), Engineering, M&A, and Finance to translate strategy into measurable action plans and KPIs.
  • Provide insight and recommendations to the Executive Leadership Team and Board on market positioning and growth opportunities.



Qualifications:


* 10+ years' experience in the aerospace industry, ideally within aeroengine component repair.
* Strong expertise in market intelligence, competitive analysis, long-range forecasting, and strategic planning.
* Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional initiatives, influence senior stakeholders, and translate insight into measurable business outcomes.
* Experience within a Private Equity portfolio company preferred.
* Proven experience in M&A activities (buy- or sell-side), including opportunity evaluation, due diligence, or post-deal integration.
* High proficiency in CRM and analytics platforms (Salesforce, Power BI, or equivalent), with strong data interpretation and communication skills.

Education Requirements:
* MBA or advanced degree in Business, Economics, or Engineering preferred.
