Software Developer, Commercial Platforms Overview:

The Software Developer - Commercial Platforms is responsible for designing, developing, maintaining, testing, and implementing software solutions for our key commercial applications and home-grown applications to meet the needs of the business. The Software Developer will partner with other developers, Product Owners, and business stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver reliable and successful products. This position offers the opportunity to work on diverse projects, solve complex issues, and contribute to the development of innovative software solutions.

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain high quality, secure, reusable, and reliable code according to specifications and design documents.
  • Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code using modern programming languages
  • Conduct thorough testing of software applications to ensure functionality, reliability, and performance.
  • Identify and troubleshoot software defects and performance issues, and implement fixes as necessary.
  • Maintain a stable and available environment following standard procedures for testing and deployment, including application support and participation in on-call rotations.
  • Understand business needs and how solutions can be applied.
  • Partner with Product Owners, Project Managers, and other business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into technical designs.
  • Collaborate with development team and other IT team members to share knowledge, review code, and resolve technical challenges.
  • Stay up to date with the latest technologies, tools, and best practices in software development.
  • Proactively identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, and optimization.
  • Drive initiatives to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of software development practices
  • Adhere to best practices, coding standards, and security policies.
  • Participate in agile ceremonies supporting the software development lifecycle.
  • Remain current with the latest Sun Country IT system/services/applications information, changes, and updates.
  • Adhere to, promote and advance SCA Security Policy, Standards and Procedures.


Requires Qualifications:



  • Associates degree in a technical or quantitative field or equivalent experience in lieu of a degree
  • 3+ years of experience in software development
  • Competency with one or more programming languages
  • Experience with commercial application technologies such as: Angular, Typescript, REST APIs, GraphQL, .Net Core, SQL, Azure
  • Experience with cloud technology
  • Experience with development frameworks and common query languages
  • Familiarity or experience with CI/CD, version control systems, testing frameworks and/or testing best practices
  • Knowledge of secure coding principles
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong organizational skills and a self-motivated attitude, with the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
  • Highly detail-oriented


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in technical or quantitative field
  • Experience in travel or aviation-related industry


Compensation:

$90,000.00-105,000.00. This is the base compensation hiring range for this role.

Work Environment:

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets.
