Associate Site Reliability Engineer

Job Summary


The purpose of the Associate Software Engineer position is to provide technical assistance directly to clients and assist in the development of processes, tools, and reports that will support the Product Support department in meeting its goals and objectives. The ideal candidate will be a strong troubleshooter with knowledge of Microsoft TSQL, C++, C#, and ASP.NET, and be able to suggest innovative solutions to complex problems. The position requires an understanding of relational databases and fundamentals of systems software design. In addition, the individual must be a self-starter with good communication and documentation skills.

Responsibilities



  • Provide high quality, timely responses to customer inquiries and application issues.
  • Triage high profile production issues and recommend and\or execute a course of action for resolution
  • Facilitate effective team interaction and leverages the skills within the team to maximize success.
  • Learn to debug issues in a variety of environments, including C++, C#, XML, .NET, and SQL
  • Completes other projects as assigned.
  • Partner with Client Success and Solutions Management to resolve client issues as efficiently as possible.
  • Partner with Development teams on identifying and triaging defects and potential product improvements.
  • Utilize time management and organizational skills to manage an ever-changing volume and set of priorities and tasks.
  • Deliver the highest quality support for nThrive products, with a focus on client success and satisfaction.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities of current software programs to optimize operational performance and efficiency for internal and external customers.



Requirements



  • BA/BS in Computer Science or related concentration or equivalent work experience
  • Demonstrated understanding of relational databases, especially Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Ability to communicate with others, including customers, in a clear, understandable and professional manner on the phone, via email and in person; and the demonstrated use of good written (i.e. good grammar/spelling) and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated strategic problem solving and advanced analytical skills.
  • Must have excellent troubleshooting, problem solving skills, both technically and at the application level.
  • Must have excellent organizational and follow-up skills with great attention to detail.
  • Highly self-reliant and motivated to take ownership of tasks through completion with little supervision.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment that requires quick turnaround and quality output.
  • Solid knowledge of all MS Office Products.



Preferred



  • 2-4 years of experience using or supporting Contract Management or equivalent products.
  • 1-2 years of software development experience developing Web/Windows applications in C++, C#, or .NET
  • Experience with SQL Server Enterprise Manager, SQL Server Management Studio, Query Analyzer, or similar tools.
  • Application of troubleshooting and analytic skills above to include OOP and SQL.
  • Preferred Technical skills:

    • C#, ASP.Net
    • .NET Framework 4.0 and up
    • HTML /CSS
    • SQL Server 2008/2012 (Tables, Stored Procedures, Views, etc.)





Physical Requirements



  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.


  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on telephone.
  • Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to move around the work area; sit; perform manual tasks; operate tools and other office equipment such as computer, computer peripherals and telephones; extend arms; kneel; talk and hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds.


  • Mental Demands: the employee must be able to follow directions, to get along with others, and handle stress;
  • Work environment: The noise level in the work environment is usually minimal.
