Focus: The Environmental Specialist is responsible for implementation, maintenance, and improvement of the Chlor Alkali Facility (CAA) environmental management systems to ensure regulatory compliance and add value to meet site objectives and maintain the license to operate.

Environmental Specialist Essential Responsibilities:

• Implement and continuously improve environmental management systems (work processes, standards, and procedures).
• Understand and own all environmental calculations related to permits, emissions, and releases. The position will have the support from engineers and consultants, but the incumbent must understand current environmental emissions calculations practices and requirements to be able to work with these teams.
• Manage air, water, and waste regulatory and permit activities and compliance requirements.
• Partner with Production, Engineering, and Maintenance on projects, day to day operations, and associated compliance activities.
• Coordinate, implement, and optimize EH&S programs for the CAA department and in conjunction with Division or Corporate programs and initiatives.
• Oversee environmental remediation job sites, including coordination with contractors, internal and industrial complex stakeholders.

Environmental Specialist Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree*; Engineering or Science discipline preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience in an environmental role required; waste regulatory experience preferred.
• Prior chemical or petrochemical industry experience highly preferred.
• Knowledge of federal and state environmental regulations and compliance.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization, verbally and in writing
• Must be available for on-call coverage as necessary to support the plant (e.g., rotating on-call support with other EH&S staff, fielding emergency employee calls, and going onsite for support in emergency instances).
• Must be able to obtain a TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential)
