Job Summary
The Analyst, SFL position is a junior level sales support position expected to work under the supervision of Associates, VPs, Directors, and MDs in the group. The Analyst will be expected to focus on i) gaining an overall understanding of the SFL platform and business and through daily assigned activity ii) seek to improve efficiency and process flows with respect to the onboarding & ongoing management of each transaction. A successful incumbent will be expected to support senior team members with managing new and existing client relationships and participating in the processing of renewal requests, changes, and pricing. The Analyst will be self-motivated and possess both exceptional written and analytical skills as he/she will be asked upon to draft communication term sheets to potential and existing clients as well as handle ongoing and regular reporting and maintenance of account folders/data. Strong project management and reporting acumen are pillars for success in this role. Intellectual curiosity, polished communication skills, and hunger to mature on the platform are keys to success for the Analyst.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with more senior team members to help manage the entire transaction closing process and the ongoing management of multiple accounts under different various sales people/syndicators.
  • Gain an understanding of and be able to speak to the different asset classes and asset managers.
  • Develop a basic understanding of our facilities structure and rating agency methodologies. .
  • Seek out opportunities throughout the transaction process that add value & that enhance our relationships, strengthen our reputation, and build trust with clients and constituents.
  • Assist in preparing and negotiating term sheets, proposals and due diligence agendas. Coordinate all such activity with the MD, VP or Director, portfolio management (PM), underwriting, operations, analytics and syndications.
  • Play a support role in any required facility documentation by coordinating between outside legal, in-house counsel, all disciplines and the client.
  • Monitor client performance to address ongoing questions and/or concerns.
  • Work expeditiously on renewal and amendement client requests.
  • Assist more senior team members in the research, analysis, and development of position papers / white papers on expansion opportunities, structure, risks & rewards, the competition and areas where the business may have competitive advantage
  • Become a subject matter expert with SFL transaction management; understand proprietary systems and tools used to facilitate a seamless client experience / transaction.
  • Performs other duties as assigned; duties, responsibilities and/or activities may change or new ones may be assigned at any time with or without notice
  • Complies with all KeyBank policies and procedures, including without limitation, acting professionally at all times, conducting business ethically, avoiding conflicts of interest, and acting in the best interests of Key's clients and Key.

Education Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree required with concentration in business or finance preferred ()

Experience Qualifications

  • 1-2+ years of experience related to structured finance / specialty finance / investment banking in the roles of sales support, portfolio management, credit, structuring& analytics, syndications or operations. (required)
  • Demonstratable ability to analyze data, including financial statements, with significant experience utilizing spreadsheet software (i.e. Excel) focused on making recommendations and supporting the decision with detailed analytical assessments. (required)
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills (including efficient use of presentation software (PowerPoint)), both written and oral (required)
  • Strong work ethic with the proven ability to take direction and work independently or as part of a greater team (required)
  • Proven critical thinking, partnering, and analytical abilities ()

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

This position is eligible to earn a base salary in the range of $71,000.00 - $122,000.00 annually. Placement within the pay range may differ based upon various factors, including but not limited to skills, experience and geographic location. Compensation for this role also includes eligibility for incentive compensation subject to individual and company performance.
