Schedule patients for infusion appointments once patient is approved for scheduling.


  • Prepare and maintain infusion appointment and other department files.
  • Request interpreter on patient's behalf, as needed.
  • Review schedules two days before and confirm infusion workflow for appointment has been completed for visit. Mitigate any issues to ensure smooth patient flows.
  • Serve as resource for staff and/or physicians who may have questions about MCN's infusion services and related processes.

* Day of infusion, check-in patient for infusion appointment and check-out patient following treatment.


  • Schedule follow up appointments for future infusions, as needed.
  • Monitor Infusion Center schedule and raise any questions/concerns to Infusion Center Manager or Infusion Nurses.
  • Assist nurses with patient flow and patient care as time allows. This may include but is not limited to rooming patients or taking vitals, helping with room recovery between patients, delivering blankets, etc.
  • Create and print lab orders as needed for day of infusion
  • Relay information to patient per nurse's instructions.
  • Obtain appropriate authorizations for releasing information to insurance when necessary.
  • Track orders to ensure completion of provider orders.
  • Maintain compliance with outside regulatory bodies for infusion medications regulated through
  • *Perform administrative and financial functions in support of Infusion Center to ensure smooth operations for patients and nurses.
  • Serve as point of contact for drug suppliers. Track drug inventory with members of the Accounting Department. Order other Infusion Center supplies/inventory as directed by Infusion Center Manager. Track inventory for all satellite sites.
  • Collaborate with professional staff to provide education, share information and communicate patient needs, problems and issues.
  • Work with the Infusion Center Manager and Patient Financial Services teams to help resolve issues with billing.
  • Participate in practice improvements by implementing changes to procedures/workflows, identifying opportunities for improvement, and assisting with the delivery of compassionate and personalized patient care.
  • Manage fax requests for referring providers.
  • Track ordering of medication for free drug programs.

Monitor provider schedules and perform related work as requested.


  • Process ClientTell reminder call messages.
  • Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned.
  • Assist nursing staff in keeping the Infusion Center clean and orderly and stocked with supplies such as refreshments, gloves, cleaning/disinfecting supplies, etc.

Education and Experience:

* High School graduate or GED equivalent.

* At least two years of previous medical office experience, preferably in the areas of revenue cycle or financial counseling.

* Previous experience with infusion services highly desired.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

* Strong knowledge of health insurance and its impact on billing. Knowledge of prior authorization process.

* Patient centered; strong customer service orientation. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

* Ability to be organized, work independently, exhibit mature judgment and make sound decisions.

* Accurate and precise reading and writing skills. Strong command of the English language; good spelling/grammar.

* Knowledge of medical terminology and ICD-10/CPT coding.

* Ability to handle confidential information with the utmost judgment and discretion.

* Proficiency with MS Office, including Word, Excel and Outlook. Proficiency with electronic health record.
