The role - what you'll do

Barr is seeking a Microsoft 365 (M365) technician to join our Minneapolis, Minnesota, team. In this hybrid role, you will support the Information Systems group by providing day-to-day support for Barr's M365 services, with a strong focus on assisting end-users and resolving technical issues. This role serves as a key resource for troubleshooting, guidance, and training across the M365 suite-including SharePoint Online, Teams, and OneDrive. The M365 technician collaborates with stakeholders to drive M365 adoption and develops and delivers training materials and sessions to build end-users' skills and confidence using the tools.

This role also participates in M365-related projects by gathering requirements, managing support tasks, and helping ensure smooth rollout and user engagement.

Your impact - key responsibilities

  • M365 adoption and implementation support: collaborate with stakeholders to support the adoption of tools like SharePoint Online, Teams, OneDrive, and Copilot. Assist with building and supporting SharePoint Online sites and Microsoft Teams for internal and external users.

  • User support: research, debug, and solve technical issues related to the M365 platform; manage user support tickets and enhancement requests. Provide access to SharePoint sites and troubleshoot access issues.Assist end-users with M365 applications.

  • User training: create user documentation and conduct virtual training sessions. Offering one-on-one coaching on M365 tools as needed.

  • M365-related project management: conduct requirements-gathering sessions, manage timelines, and assist with successful rollout and user adoption.

  • Ensure system scalability, security, and sustainability: manage access controls, monitor system configuration, and implement best practices for long-term system performance and security.

About the opportunity

  • Compensation: anticipated range of $26-$32 hourly. Compensation will vary based on relevant experience, education, skill level, and other compensable factors. Employees in this position may also be eligible for a discretionary cash bonus based on team and individual performance. This position is classified as non-exempt (hourly) under the Fair Labor Standards Act.

  • A hybrid work arrangement may be considered for this position. A hybrid work arrangement refers to splitting time worked between a Barr office and a home office. This position is based out of Barr's Minneapolis, Minnesota, office.

About you - required core competencies

  • Experience: three years of experience:

    • Configuring SharePoint Online (sites, lists, libraries, permissions), creating workflows, and managing forms.

    • Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 tools including SharePoint Online, Teams, OneDrive, Power Automate, Power Apps, and Forms.

  • Software: Microsoft 365 tools and information management or enterprise content management systems (e.g., SharePoint).

  • Communication: excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to present technical content to non-technical audiences.

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship by Barr, now or in the future.

Helpful additional experience (not required)

  • Bachelor's or associate degree in computer science, information technology, or a related discipline or equivalent work experience.

  • Industry certifications such as Microsoft 365 Fundamentals, Microsoft 365 Teams Administrator Associate, Microsoft 365 Administrator, Azure Administrator, or similar.

  • Familiarity with automation, scripting (e.g., PowerShell) for system management and administration.

  • Knowledge of security frameworks, compliance standards, and best practices.
