Position Overview:

The Asset Manager will oversee the operational and financial performance of a portfolio of biogas and renewable natural gas (RNG) assets. Acting as the "owner's representative," this role ensures assets meet production, reliability and financial, compliance, and budgeted targets. The Asset Manager will interface with operations & maintenance (O&M) providers, offtakers, regulatory bodies, and internal teams including finance, legal, and development. This position is hybrid out of our Framingham, MA, Charlotte, NC, or Portland, ME offices.

Responsibilities:

Operational & Performance Monitoring & Continuous Improvement

  • Track asset performance metrics (e.g., yields, uptime/downtime, efficiency metrics).

  • Identify opportunities for asset performance improvement and process optimization.

  • Collaborate with O&M, engineering and development teams on upgrades and technology enhancements.

  • Support acquisitions and divestitures through operational and financial due diligence.

  • Evaluate new offtake and technology markets for business suitability.

Financial Management & Forecasting

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual forecasts (P&L, cash flow, budgets).

  • Monitor budget variances and drive corrective actions.

  • Collaborate with FP&A and accounting on cost allocations and capital expenditures.

  • Evaluate and approve capital projects and major maintenance work.

  • Support debt covenant compliance, issuing notices etc.

  • Support in the due diligence of the debt/equity financing.

Contract & Offtake Management

  • Manage offtake agreements for RNG and power projects, including PPAs and gas sales contracts.

  • Identify opportunities to optimize revenue streams.

  • Stay current on regulatory changes and tax credit programs (e.g., RINs, other markets for RNG, 45Z).

  • Support contract negotiations, renewals, and amendments.

  • Ensure ISCC certification and compliance.

  • Stay informed on industry trends and best practices in biogas, RNG, and power generation.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of industry experience in asset management and renewable energy projects.

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance or related field.

Additional Qualifications:

  • Strong analytical and decision-making capabilities.

  • Experience with contracting, portfolio optimization, and risk assessment.

  • Ability to manage budgets, conduct market analysis, and work with cross-functional teams.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Team-oriented and adaptable in fast-paced environments.

  • High attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Experience in client-facing roles and stakeholder engagement.

  • Self-starter and can work with little supervision.
