Description

  • Verify components picked against the picking document.
  • Transport raw materials and other items from receiving or production areas to storage or to other designated areas using a forklift or hand truck.
  • Maintain warehouse; ensure neat and orderly storage of raw materials, finished goods, hardware, etc.
  • Read pick tickets to determine materials needed for order preparation.
  • Notify supervisor of low inventory supply.
  • Periodically, take inventory of material, equipment, and supplies in storage as assigned.
  • Assist with basic assembly of components and/or cutting, drilling, and routering of lumber, bases or supports as needed.
  • Follow all clean up and housekeeping procedures.


  • Satisfy the required hours of the department.



EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Requires education generally equivalent to a high school diploma, this is an entry level position.



LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one situations to other employees of the organization.



MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.



REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

OTHER QUALIFICATION:

Requires the ability to operate various hand tools and equipment. Must be able to operate a manual and powered pallet jack and the ability to pass forklift operator course and drive a forklift.
