DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this role, you will engage in a variety of entry-level technical tasks across all aspects of PennDOT, including design, construction, and maintenance. Your responsibilities will involve providing engineering support while gaining a comprehensive understanding of departmental policies, procedures, and workflows. The training program includes several assignments aimed at familiarizing you with district personnel and operational practices, along with classroom sessions led by the program coordinator. As you progress, your duties will expand to include assessing occupancy requests for compliance with right-of-way regulations and state laws, as well as determining requirements for restoration, bonding, and insurance. You will also participate in construction inspections related to highway occupancy permits, ensuring compliance at all sites before, during, and after work. Additionally, you will be responsible for maintaining detailed occupancy records and files for the County, which will aid in preserving historical roadway data. Interested in learning more? Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year of experience in highway or bridge surveying, design, construction, or inspection work; or
- One year of experience in quality control of materials or building or construction industry experience, which includes reading and interpreting blueprints, plans, or schematics; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Other Requirements:
- This particular position requires possession of a Class C non-commercial driver's license.
