We are looking for a Sr. Manager, Ads Product Policy to lead our ad, merchant and spam policy team. As leader of our policy team, you will oversee the development of Pinterest's ad, merchant, shopping and brand safety and spam policies, engage with a range of internal and external stakeholders and manage a team of policy analysts and managers. You will also partner with the Senior Director, Product Policy to set strategy for Pinterest's overall Policy team, ensuring Pinterest's policies support the company's mission, keep our global community of Pinners safe, and enable responsible revenue growth.

What you'll do:



  • You will engage with key senior-level stakeholders and partner with Enforcement Operations, Product, and Engineering, Sales, Legal, Public Policy, Corporate Affairs, and Communications teams to develop, iterate on, and implement Pinterest's ad, shopping and other commercial policies.
  • You will manage and lead a team of policy specialists, including hiring, conducting performance development, setting goals and building roadmaps, managing budgets, and motivating and supporting the development of team members.
  • You will be a subject matter expert on Pinterest's monetized policies, advise internal teams on policy matters, and serve as key leader for commercial policy escalations.
  • You will engage with industry stakeholders to solicit feedback and represent Pinterest's policy stances.
  • You will partner with the Sr. Director, Product Policy to set overall strategy for Pinterest's Policy team and policy frameworks.



What we're looking for:



  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as public policy, research, sales, or equivalent experience
  • Demonstrated expertise developing ad, shopping and/or other commercial safety policies at a large online platform at a senior level.
  • Exceptional critical thinking and decision making skills and the ability to thrive amid ambiguity.
  • Experience building and maintaining strong and productive relationships with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders, including Legal, Ops, Product and Sales teams.
  • Experience managing high-profile escalations.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, and experience successfully engaging with audiences at all levels to include C-Suite executives.
  • People management experience and/or experience mentoring and coaching others and leading from within.
  • Ability to say the hard thing and address difficult issues.
  • An embrace of Pinterest's mission and values.

  • We recognize that the ideal environment for work is situational and may differ across departments. What this looks like day-to-day can vary based on the needs of each organization or role.
  • This role will need to be in the office for in-person collaboration 1-2 times a quarter and therefore can be situated anywhere in the country.
