What You Will Do

  • Ensure compliance with safety policies, codes, and regulations by reinforcing safe work practices and promoting a strong culture of safety.
  • Lead and coach a team of Gas Technicians by setting clear performance expectations and providing mentorship to foster professional growth.
  • Deliver ongoing feedback and conduct formal performance evaluations, creating individualized development plans to support team success.
  • Strategically prioritize and allocate work assignments to optimize efficiency and ensure projects advance on schedule.
  • Monitor project progress and adjust resources as needed to meet deadlines and maintain quality standards.
  • Collaborate with design teams to provide engineering input that ensures accuracy, cost-effectiveness, and compliance with specifications.
  • Validate project designs and plans to confirm alignment with technical requirements and operational objectives before execution.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to enhance processes and reduce costs.
  • Champion company growth and team development through strategic leadership and commitment to excellence.
  • Ensure customer and stakeholder needs are consistently met by maintaining open communication, addressing concerns promptly, and delivering solutions that align with expectations.

Who You Are

  • Minimum of 5 years of directly related experience.
    • Preferred 7+ years of directly related experience.
  • Valid driver's license with a safe driving record
  • Possess knowledge of Microsoft Office software
  • Has excellent communications (both orally and in writing) and interpersonal skills
  • Has strong leadership skills
  • Knowledge of company operations and the natural gas industry
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements (PHMSA, EPA, OSHA, DOT, ASME, etc.)
  • Knowledge of company capital and operating budget procedures
  • Ability to lead and communicate effectively and establish rapport.
  • Demonstrated ability to think analytically, strategically, and tactically, with proven problem-solving and critical-thinking skills to drive effective decisions and solutions.
  • Exhibit strong leadership qualities, including the ability to effectively manage conflict while consistently modeling the company's values and Code of Conduct.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate teams to achieve goals and maintain high performance.

Education Requirements

  • Possess a 4-year engineering degree from an ABET accredited engineering program based on the year that the engineering program was accredited by ABET,OR
  • Possess a 4-year engineering degree from an institution outside of the U.S. which is accredited through the country's own engineering accrediting body under the Washington Accord as a full signatory, and is a degree that was recognized by the country's accrediting body on or after the date that full signatory status was achieved,OR
  • Possess a 4-year engineering degree from a non-ABET accredited program and a post-graduate engineering degree from an institution where the undergraduate degree in the same engineering discipline is ABET accredited based on the year the engineering program was accredited by ABET,OR
  • Possess a 4-year degree in Physics, Chemistry or Math and a post-graduate engineering degree from an institution where the undergraduate degree in the same engineering discipline is ABET accredited based on the year the engineering program was accredited by ABET, or holds or has previously held a valid Professional Engineer license.

Preferred degree: Mechanical or Civil

Working Conditions

  • Primarily an office-based role with occasional field responsibilities, including site visits and various meetings as needed.
  • Travel to company locations and industry events to represent the organization and support business objectives.
  • Flexibility to work outside normal business hours when required to meet project deadlines and operational needs.

Physical Requirements include but are not limited to:

Grasping, kneeling, light - moderate lifting (objects up to 20 pounds), reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, typing, sitting, standing, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement and the ability to sit at a computer for long periods of time.

Mental Requirements (Both Field & Office) include but are not limited to:

Ability to: understand, remember and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information, understand complex problems and collaborate/explore alternative solutions, organize thoughts and ideas into understandable terminology, organize and prioritize work schedule on a short-term basis, make decisions which have moderate impact on the immediate work unit and monitor impact outside this area, understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines, complete routine forms, compose letters, outlines, memoranda and basic reports and communicate with individuals via telephone.
