JOB SUMMARY: The Rockville Coordinator is responsible for the assisting the Quarry Supervisor in running and maintaining both Rockville #1 and Rockville #2 Quarries. This includes working directly with safety, environmental, quarry and plant personnel to keep a safe and efficient operation. WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING: Identify and eliminate potential safety hazards in area. Support all Continuous Improvement programs and company policies. Participate in site meetings. Help the supervisor to direct stock selection, follow stock to the plant. Provide training and education to employees all along the value chain. Communicate with plants, estimating, drafting and sales on stock. Serve as the primary operator loader at the Rockville sites. Act as the site supervisor as needed. Attend meetings as needed. PHYSICAL CONDITIONS & DEMANDS: This position spends approximately 90% of their time outside in the quarry & plant areas subject to all weather elements from extreme summer heat to below zero cold, wind and rain. With less than 10% of the time spent inside in an office environment. SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE: A high level of quarrying experience. Basic plant knowledge (slabbing, layout, finishing, jointing & bundling). Basic quarry knowledge (color & variegation ranges, block sizes and personal at the Rockville Site) Basic knowledge on how jobs are set at the job site. Must possess good verbal communication skills with an understanding of quarry, office and plant operations. Must be able to understand layouts and how this will affect the different background colors and variegation of the Rockville granite. Must be able to recognize the different background colors of all the granites sold by CSG. Must have the ability to direct and teach people. Must have above average organizational skills and coordinate and handle a number of tasks at the same time with multiple priorities. Should be familiar with quality and production related work instructions and lean manufacturing concepts. Must have good understanding of all aspects of stone production.
