Position Summary
The Walsh lab is looking for a technician to aid in a variety of laboratory tasks. The individual will assist in the implementation and execution of procedures involving neural circuit investigations of motivated behaviors, focusing on mouse models of autism spectrum disorder.

The successful candidate will have ample opportunity to contribute to all aspects of research, including intracranial surgeries for circuit tracing and modulation, various behavioral assays, data management, supervising undergraduate students, analysis of imaging data and behavioral data using machine-learning based software. The position is well-suited to those who intend to pursue graduate school in neuroscience, or a related field.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work.
Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Stellar verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to carry out experiments.
Knowledge of basic laboratory techniques.
Experience with Microsoft Excel.
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
- In vivo behavioral neuroscience research experience
- Competency with stereotaxic surgeries, viral, and transgenic technologies
- Excellent programming and data analysis abilities ( MATLAB, Python)
- Familiarity with optogenetics, histology, immunostaining, confocal microscopy, in vivo imaging
