Description
The Fox Theatre in Atlanta is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Housekeeping Porter.
Fox Theatre Housekeeping personnel are responsible for maintaining the day-to-day housekeeping needs of the Fox Theatre, including the interior and exterior of the building, ensuring a safe, clean, and sanitary environment. This includes housekeeping related to the theatre, administrative offices, restrooms, exterior and perimeter, and more.
Major Responsibilities:
- Clean, sanitize, disinfect, and maintain stock for the restrooms, lobbies, theatre seating areas, backstage dressing rooms, ballrooms, Marquee Club, administrative offices, exterior spaces, sidewalk perimeter, and more, as directed by the Housekeeping Manager or Supervisor. Cleaning techniques may include sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, vacuuming, wiping of surfaces, hauling trash, and more;
- Ensure all restrooms are sanitary and well stocked with paper goods;
- Clean and maintain all windows and glass in the building as instructed;
- Assist with stocking, organizing, and cleaning of housekeeping closets as needed. Maintain proper care of uniforms, equipment, and supplies as instructed;
- Operate buffers, power sweeping equipment, extractors, shampooing equipment, electrostatic sprayers, and other housekeeping equipment as instructed;
- Other duties as directed.
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills, & Qualifications Required:
- Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent;
- 1+ years in a housekeeping or custodial position;
- Must have strong interpersonal skills;
- Ability to work on a team;
- Strong communication skills to speak with team members and supervisors to relay information as needed;
- Ability to work independently;
- Ability to read directions, plans, and instructions.
Knowledge, Skills, & Qualifications Preferred:
- Have or be willing to obtain a Global Biorisk Advisory Council Accreditation;
Essential Physical Requirements:
- Regular periods during which there is continuous physical exertion required.
- Must be able to frequently traverse the building including moving between multiple floors and ascending/descending stairs.
- Must be able to ascend/descend a ladder.
- Must be able to lift materials or equipment up to 50 pounds and be capable of moving/pulling/pushing up to 100 pounds with assistance if necessary.
Other Requirements:
- Must be able to work extended or irregular hours including frequent evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
- Successful applicants must be able to pass a post-offer, pre-employment background check.
