Your Impact We are seeking an experienced engineer to design, develop, and maintain the automation platform that drives Intersight's software supply chain security and compliance. This role plays a key part in ensuring that all open-source and third-party components used across Intersight's SaaS and on-premises offerings meet corporate and industry security standards. You'll join a team of engineers building and maintaining automation and services that integrate vulnerability scanning, open-source validation, and compliance enforcement into every release. Your work will have a direct impact on how we build, scan, and deliver software, enabling development teams to move faster without compromising security.
Responsibilities
Design and implement automation frameworks and backend services that enable software supply chain security and compliance. Maintain and extend platform capabilities for generation and management of SBOMs, vulnerability reporting, and open-source artifacts. Support and improve automated build pipelines for minimal, hardened OS and application container images and add support for new platforms and applications. Continuously evaluate and integrate new tools and emerging technologies, including AI/ML, to expand capabilities and improve efficiency. Collaborate with other engineering and security teams to ensure Intersight meets Cisco's compliance and industry standards. Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines in Jenkins and deploy and manage containerized services on Kubernetes (Docker, Helm). Ensure high availability, performance, observability, and data integrity. Document system design, workflows, and operational processes; create runbooks and onboarding guides. Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues across the security automation platform and supporting infrastructure. Participate in code and design reviews.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's in Computer Science or related field with 7+ years of relevant experience or Master's with 5+ years of experience. 5+ years of development experience in Python Experience with SQL databases, preferably PostgreSQL and SQLite Proficiency in building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins. In-depth knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes, including Helm for package management. Solid understanding of Linux operating systems and hands-on Linux administration experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Expertise in software supply chain security, including vulnerability management, secure development practices, and compliance with industry standards. Experience in declarative and scripted Groovy pipelines. Hands-on experience with monitoring and observability tools including Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, and ELK. Proficient in using object-relational mapping (ORM) tools, such as SQLAlchemy Hands-on experience with orchestration tools including Ansible and Packer. Solid understanding of first-boot configuration such as Ubuntu/Debian image boot process, Subiquity, and cloud-init config. Knowledge of Python AI libraries such as Langchain and FastMCP. Practical experience in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and related services. Experience in designing and/or coding medium-sized web applications. Strong communication and problem-solving skills; ability to work effectively independently and in a collaborative environment.

The starting salary range posted for this position is $165,000.00 to $241,400.00 and reflects the projected salary range for new hires in this position in U.S. and/or Canada locations, not including incentive compensation*, equity, or benefits.
Individual pay is determined by the candidate's hiring location, market conditions, job-related skillset, experience, qualifications, education, certifications, and/or training. The full salary range for certain locations is listed below. For locations not listed below, the recruiter can share more details about compensation for the role in your location during the hiring process. U.S. employees are offered benefits, subject to Cisco's plan eligibility rules, which include medical, dental and vision insurance, a 401(k) plan with a Cisco matching contribution, paid parental leave, short and long-term disability coverage, and basic life insurance. Employees may be eligible to receive grants of Cisco restricted stock units, which vest following continued employment with Cisco for defined periods of time. U.S. employees are eligible for paid time away as described below, subject to Cisco's policies:

For non-sales roles, employees are also eligible to earn annual bonuses subject to Cisco's policies. Employees on sales plans earn performance-based incentive pay on top of their base salary, which is split between quota and non-quota components, subject to the applicable Cisco plan. For quota-based incentive pay, Cisco typically pays as follows:
.75% of incentive target for each 1% of revenue attainment up to 50% of quota; 1.5% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 50% and 75%; 1% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 75% and 100%; and Once performance exceeds 100% attainment, incentive rates are at or above 1% for each 1% of attainment with no cap on incentive compensation.
For non-quota-based sales performance elements such as strategic sales objectives, Cisco may pay 0% up to 125% of target. Cisco sales plans do not have a minimum threshold of performance for sales incentive compensation to be paid. The applicable full salary ranges for this position, by specific state, are listed below: New York City Metro Area: $165,000.00 - $277,600.00
Non-Metro New York state & Washington state: $146,700.00 - $247,000.00
* For quota-based sales roles on Cisco's sales plan, the ranges provided in this posting include base pay and sales target incentive compensation combined. ** Employees in Illinois, whether exempt or non-exempt, will participate in a unique time off program to meet local requirements.
