Led by Visa's first Chief Data Officer, the Global Data Office coordinates high-impact, complex, company-wide projects related to data business strategy, critical investments, policy development, and marketplace execution. Working closely with Visa's Chief Privacy Officer, the Technology organization, the wider data community, and the full set of Visa's global lines of business, the Global Data Office is evolving Visa's data-related work with momentum and enthusiasm. Driven by its commitment to trusted use of data, Visa is seeking enthusiastic leaders who are change-agents and passionate about the future of data around the world.

This position plays a critical role in developing commercial data products for enterprise clients-overseeing product management teams and creating cross-functional alignment across the company. The client are typically Visa's partners in the network ecosystems, like issuers and acquirers. The Senior Director will need to secure internal alignment and ensure products follow a disciplined structure from ideation POC MVP GA, driving excellence for all kinds of data products such as dashboards, APIs, model scores, and decisioning tools that deliver measurable business value.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Market & Customer Insight: Identify user needs for dashboards, APIs, model scores, and decisioning tools; conduct research to validate problems and align solutions to business outcomes.
  • Product Vision & Roadmap: Define strategy and a compelling multi-year roadmap; prioritize features (e.g., data visualization, API integrations, ML model accuracy) and plan releases that balance customer impact, technical feasibility, and compliance.
  • Agentic AI & ML Integration: Design and deliver agentic AI capabilities-goal-driven AI agents that autonomously plan, act, and adapt across workflows (e.g., anomaly detection, automated reporting, intelligent routing of data tasks). Establish AI safety & governance: mitigate risks like prompt injection, model/data poisoning, and ensure human-in-the-loop review, audit trails, and secure orchestration of autonomous agents.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with data scientists, engineers, analysts, designers, and business stakeholders; translate business needs into technical requirements and communicate product value to non-technical audiences.
  • Feature Definition & Prioritization: Specify requirements for data quality, security, privacy (e.g., GDPR/CCPA compliance), usability, and scalability; ensure privacy-by-design and security-by-design principles are embedded.
  • Execution & Development Oversight: Own the lifecycle from concept to launch and beyond; work with engineering to design, develop, and ship secure, scalable data products (including APIs, dashboards, and model-serving).
  • Launch & Iteration: Lead go-to-market in partnership with Sales/GTM, Marketing, and Customer Success; gather feedback and iterate using adoption, accuracy, latency, error rate, and ROI metrics.
  • Performance Monitoring: Define and track product KPIs (usage, latency, error rates, data freshness, model performance); instrument telemetry and observability across services and user journeys.
  • Data Governance & Quality: Implement policies and tooling for data lineage, consent management, retention, and compliance; partner with Legal, Privacy, and Security to meet global regulations.

This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in the office will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or at least 10 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters/MBA /JD/MD), or a minimum of 5 years of work experience with a PhD

Preferred Qualifications:

15 or more years of experience with a Bachelor's Degree or 12 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, or MD), PhD with 9+ years of experience

15+ years in product management with 5+ years leading managers/PM teams at Director level or above; proven delivery of complex, data-intensive products at scale.

Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, or a quantitative field (or equivalent experience); advanced degree (e.g., MS, MBA) a plus.

Technical Fluency: Hands-on familiarity with modern data platforms and cloud services (AWS/Azure/GCP), including data pipelines, storage, streaming, and observability.

Security/Privacy: Working knowledge of global data privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA/CPRA) and privacy-by-design principles.

Leadership & Communication: Proven ability to align executives and lead cross-functional teams; clear communication to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Metrics & Iteration: Track record of defining KPIs and iterating post-launch to drive adoption and business outcomes.

Agentic AI & ML Product Experience: Background building AI-enabled or agentic AI products; familiarity with planning/action/feedback loops and multi-agent orchestration.

Proven record to drive effective organizational change and culture change. Ability to align and deliver on a vision in a global matrixed organization.

AI Safety & Governance: Experience mitigating prompt injection and data/model poisoning risks; familiarity with secure AI frameworks.

Certifications (Plus): Pragmatic Institute (PM), and/or relevant cloud certifications (AWS/GCP/Azure).

Highly adaptive, comfortable working within a complex, and often ambiguous, environment. Equally capable of thriving with changing circumstances

Ability to rapidly comprehend changes in the business landscape (whether regulatory, competitive, or business-related) and design around the expected impact.

Exceptional team management and leadership skills that excel in dynamic and global workplaces

Proactive and effective communicator. Experienced at presenting information to senior levels, with ability to facilitate group discussions and debate and proven ability to influence and communicate effectively across geographic and functional lines (whether virtual or in-person).

Additional Information

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 229,000.00 to 357,950.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
