Job Summary The Sr. Systems Engineer is a pivotal technical role responsible for the design, implementation, management, and support of hybrid-cloud infrastructure platforms. This Engineering professional will be responsible for leading infrastructure projects to completion, optimizing internal processes with automation tools, and driving towards security outcomes related to patch management and hybrid-cloud platform design. An ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with enterprise-class patch management technologies like Ivanti, Automox, or NinjaOne. This individual will lead Automation and Patch Management initiatives related to Active Directory, Entra ID, SSO, Windows Servers, Linux Servers, and PKI. A strong scripting & orchestration background, in-depth OS knowledge (Windows/Linux), and familiarity with ServiceNow are preferred. What you will do: Key Responsibilities: Patch Management:
- Strong proficiency with patch management technologies like Ivanti, Automox, or NinjaOne is a key requirement.
- Familiarity with growing vulnerability landscapes, attack vectors, threat modeling, incident response, and security frameworks as they relate to APIs, Operating Systems, hypervisors, and network appliances.
- Lead the design, implementation, and administration of OS deployment (OSD), image hardening, 3rd party software distribution, patch compliance, and reporting.
- Knowledge of enterprise-class errata lifecycle technologies like Red Hat Satellite, MECM, or SUSE Manager is a plus.
Security & Compliance:
- Manage hybrid-cloud Public Key Infrastructure (PKI), manage and create certificate templates, control certificate inventory, and automate the certificate lifecycle across a diverse ecosystem.
- Hands-on management of certificate management tools (Venafi TPP & ZTPKI, Sectigo, and Entra PKI).
- In-depth knowledge of Enterprise CA and certificate management concepts required.
Identity and Access Management:
- Serve as a subject matter expert for Active Directory and Entra ID, including authentication and authorization concepts.
- Single Sign-On solutions using Entra ID with a focus on automation.
- Manage Azure App Registrations, Service Principals, Managed Identities, and Client Secrets.
- Knowledge of Conditional Access policies.
Automation & Orchestration:
- Automate administrative tasks and integrate systems using orchestration tools and scripts written in PowerShell, Python, and Microsoft Graph API, etc.
- In-depth knowledge of Ansible Automation Platform, Terraform, and playbooks for advanced automation workflows, and related endpoint and server management concepts.
- Automation and deployment of virtual servers on-premises and in the cloud to include Windows and Linux with a focus on the Azure hyperscalers and hypervisors.
- Knowledge of git, GitHub, and Azure DevOps for playbook and runbook development.
- Knowledge of the System Center Suite a plus.
Infrastructure Management:
- Extensive knowledge of Windows Server, RHEL, Ubuntu, and containers, including administration, patching, and general troubleshooting.
- Proficiency with enterprise-class hypervisors like VMware ESXi, Azure Local, OpenShift VE, or Nutanix.
- Proficiency with cloud hyperscalers like Azure and AWS.
- IT Service Management:
- Apply ITIL standards and best practices to incident, problem, change, and release management processes within the endpoint engineering domain.
Leadership & Mentorship:
- Provide thought leadership, technical recommendations, mentorship, and partner with cross-functional leaders.
What we expect of you:
- Bachelor's Degree and 7 years of Information Technology Engineering experience, OR
- 11 years of Information Technology Engineering experience.
- Demonstrated experience with Automation and Patch Management technologies, as well as SaaS solutions such as Ivanti, Tanium, Automox, NinjaOne, etc.
- Experience with enterprise-class orchestrators like Ansible AP and strong proficiency in scripting with Powershell, Bash, and Python.
- Experience using git, GitHub, or ADO.
- Experience with Entra ID and authentication, Microsoft PIM, SSO, and Application Registrations.
- Experience with certificate management tools, Venafi TPP, Venafi ZTPKI, Sectigo, or Entra PKI.
- Understanding of scoped applications, how and when to utilize them, and how to develop and deploy.
- Active listening skills, good communication skills, emotional intelligence, and self-driven ownership of issues to resolution.
- Proven experience as a key technical resource leading the implementation and cross-functional solutions.
- Experience with SAFE Agile, a plus.
- ServiceNow experience, a plus.
- Patch Management experience, a plus.
