GENERAL JOB SUMMARY: The material handlers are responsible to load and unload trucks, track and control inventory, issue material to production, and move inventory items within the plant and inter-plant. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Load and unload materials and vendor parts from trucks.
- Track and control parts in areas of responsibility. Inventory parts as directed.
- Move material, work in process, and finished goods from location to location as instructed.
- Properly store material in designated locations following safe stacking practices.
- Receive consumables before distribution to maintenance and tool room.
- Assists with physical inventory activities, including cycle counts, measurements, and raw material counts.
- Completes required paperwork and system transactions accordingly.
- Perform responsibilities and complete transactions in AS400 and paperwork per procedures for: Receiving, Stocking Receipts, Material Pulls, Material Returns
- Assist with physical inventory activities, including cycle counts, measurements, and raw material counts.
- Other duties may be assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY: This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

Required Experience:
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:
- Ability to maintain sensitive and confidential information as required by government standards.
- Ability to interact effectively with peers and supervisors.
- Ability to interact appropriately with the public when necessary.
- Ability to adhere to workplace rules.
- Ability to perform basic math/reading/writing skills.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite preferred.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 1-year experience in a related field.
- Basic computer skills required.
- Must have or be able to obtain a forklift license.
WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Shop Floor environment / shared workbench or workstation.
- Ability to perform repetitive motion (rotating wrists, keyboarding, using small/large tools).
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to tolerate constant noise (machine motors large fans).
- Ability to work safely in the presence of hazardous chemicals and hazardous conditions.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand or sit for long periods of time.
- The employee frequently is required to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls and to climb or balance.
- The employee is occasionally required to walk, reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and speak or listen.
- Ability to follow standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
