Job Summary:


The Sales Administration work tool Specialist provides administrative support to the Prime Product Sales & Used Equipment Departments with work tool and attachment sales, manages the work tool inventory and provides assistance to the Rental Manager with the Prime Product rental fleet.


Responsibilities:


  • Manages the work tool inventory for all Fabick locations including; ordering, transportation and preparation, inventory turns, aged inventory management, dealer transfers and searches, sales reporting, and unit forecasting.
  • Primary contact for all work tool inventory questions.
  • Maintains a database of all work tool inventory which includes sizing and specifications.
  • Monitors CAT stock and availability. Works with the Service Department on all work tool installations and establishes flat rates.
  • Researches and documents work tool inventory best practices.
  • Actively sells surplus and or obsolete work tools to out of territory retail and wholesale customers and distributors.
  • Acts as Fabick's Primary contact to Allied Vendors who sell work tools and attachments. Manages the relationship in efforts to optimize (negotiate) our sales variance and/or terms that we receive from these Vendors. Also influences (improve) delivery schedules, especially when Cat product is not available in a timely fashion.
  • Maintains a strong knowledge of the markets that our customers serve. Is aware of general market conditions. Keeps abreast of product work tool updates for the products that they represent along with competitor's products. Keeps management informed as to changes in the market. Works with customers to develop solutions for their needs.
  • Approves allied vendor invoices.
  • Attends company, customer meetings and association events as assigned by the management.
  • Learn to receive inventory into our system
  • All other duties as assigned



Requirements
Qualifications:


  • High school diploma required
  • A Bachelor's degree in business, engineering or related discipline from a four year college or university preferred
  • 5-7 years of related experience is required
  • Must have experience in dealing with markets that consume high value capital goods.
  • Strong working knowledge of work tools and applications which they are used for
  • Sales background in the construction equipment industry
  • Knowledge of Caterpillar construction equipment is required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are a must.
  • Must be able to effectively merchandise a complex piece of equipment in a highly competitive market that is constantly changing.
  • There must be a solid understanding of marketing and sales psychology as well as mathematical and computer capabilities.
  • Computer Skills: Microsoft Office and email.
  • Ability to make decisions confidently and independently as required.
  • Strong persuasion and negotiation skills.


Physical Requirements:


While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to sit for long periods, stand, walk, bend and stoop to perform the essential functions of this job. Occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
