We are seeking a Senior Landscape Design Professional to join our team in Houston. In this role, you will be responsible for working with the team in all project design and conceptualization stages as well as detailed design and documentation phases. This includes landscape design and master planning/urban design projects across the Teas (Austin, Houston & Dallas) and Midwest (Kansas City, St. Louis & Chicago) regions.



RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Works on a full range of assignments in the delivery of all project phases through construction administration.
  • Develops, modifies, and reviews design reports/presentations, construction documents, and specifications.
  • Develops innovative solutions to technical and design problems following established standards.
  • Incorporates Integrated Sustainable Design and stormwater management solutions into projects.
  • Displays ability to create design concepts and expresses them graphically.
  • Compiles data and performs elementary design computations.
  • Performs benchmarking research on outdoor and/or development programming, comparable projects, and images.
  • Assures HOK document standards are met and archives documents appropriately.
  • May assist team in construction administration document processing (RFI's and submittals) and site observations.
  • Develops working level understanding of HOK design process and marketing process and supports interview and proposal preparation.
  • Reads and understands Client Contract Agreements for budget, schedule, work plan, and client constraints.
  • Mentors and helps direct the work of less experienced staff.
  • Actively promotes a collaborative and innovative culture.
  • Fosters a commitment to external and internal client service.


SKILLS & COMPETENCIES:



  • Proficiency in AutoCAD.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Proficiency in 3D Modeling software such as Rhino, Sketchup, Enscape, and Lumion.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign graphic software.
  • Proficiency or working knowledge of Revit preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of sustainability, integrated design, and LEED guidelines.
  • Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to effectively meet deadlines.


EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:



  • Bachelor's degree in landscape architecture or architecture plus 5 to 10 years' experience; or equivalent in appropriate education and experience required. Master's degree in landscape architecture or urban design preferred.
  • LEED credential required within twelve months of employment.
