The Archive Digitization Technician is responsible for converting physical archival materials into high-quality digital formats to ensure long-term preservation and accessibility. This role involves operating specialized digitization equipment, adhering to archival standards, and managing metadata for digital assets.

This is a long-term full-time contract position on site at Boys Town Hall of History. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:
  • Performs daily operations of digitization workflows, including digitization, color management, and quality control.
  • Tracks digitization progress and compiles relevant statistics.
  • Coordinates digital collections workflow, including collaboration with metadata specialists and preparation for ingestion into digital repositories.
  • Maintains digitization priority lists in collaboration with team members.
  • Executes efficient digital production workflows aligned with digital library standards.
  • Contributes to the development of policies, guidelines, and best practices for digitization.
  • Monitors and maintains specialized hardware and software used for image capture and processing.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
  • Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Strong communication and coordination skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
  • Strong organizational and tracking skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Experience with digitization workflows and digital asset management required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Experience in digital media, museum environments, or archival settings preferred.
  • Familiarity with color management and quality control processes preferred.
  • Technical proficiency with digitization equipment and software preferred.
  • Knowledge of digital library standards and metadata practices preferred.
